Best panacea for mind and soul….a peaceful holiday in “Ishan Log Huts – A Boutique Home Stay” located at an untouched wonderland called Bahu. You will return completely rejuvenated from the stresses of city life. An enterprising young man Prakash Thakur, his beautiful wife Rimple and their young shy lad Ishan have created this aesthetically designed space way above Jibhi with beautiful views of snow capped Tirthan Himalayan Range, Jalori Pass, Chehni Kothi from their cosy sit outs. Visiting this heavenly place in April 2021 after a year of pandemic and lockdown was just the dose of medicine our weary souls required. The beauty of the cedar forests and majestic Himalayan views from the sit outs were very enticing and so were the interiors of the log huts - architecture is conceptualized by the owner in traditional Kathkuni style and interiors are aesthetically designed with many art pieces by the owner’s spouse. The washrooms have efficient modern fittings and best quality of bed and bath linens provided in the rooms. They manage the home stay entirely on their own with great teamwork and understanding - dividing kitchen chores, housekeeping and room service among themselves effortlessly. The food served in their impeccable white crockery is delicious, warm and very homely! Compliments to the chef for the subtle tasting Siddu, a Himachali specialty dish made with walnut stuffing that we enjoyed more than once during our 5 nights stay at Ishan. Do note it’s a home stay so don’t expect a lengthy ala carte menu…but your requests are always complied to with a smile, which in our case was mutton for the hubby (procured from Banjar 18 kms away) and yummy paneer kadai for vegetarian me. We did not miss the television even once during our stay with interesting hikes like Balu Nag Temple 3 kms from the property in the midst of a cedar forest, Bahu Lake and Bahu Village (Prakash’s native village) were just a few minutes away. There are many more treks nearby like the ones to Serolsar Lake, Raghupur Fort and Chehni Kothi...which we intend to do on our next visit. We had a wonderful break at Ishan Log Hut and just did not have the heart to leave this piece of heaven. We thank Prakash Thakur & family for their kindness and generosity and sharing their beautiful home with us!!

We are a family of 4 (two young girls) looking for a place that is quiet, unique, authentic, and surrounded by nature. Fortunately, we found Parakash & Rimpal's place. The hosts are super friendly, generous, welcoming, and responsive, making our stay memorable.
The place is spotless, rooms are spacious and well designed, surrounded by nature, with hidden spots where you can drift away with a good book or music.
One of the most enjoyable parts of our stay was experiencing the local cuisine. The food was fresh, delicious and made with love by our amazing host Rimpal.
The host is also a tour guide with lots of knowledge and experience. He took us to explore nature which was an added value for us.
Highly recommended!

Stayed at this exquisite homestay property for 3 nights in June 2021. The room and washroom was top notch equipped with Hi-Speed Wifi dongle. Terrific views from the room as well as from the balcony (photos). The property owner (Mr. Thakur) and his family and their dog (boxy) were so warm, friendly and accommodative. The food was delicious and wholesome. The area around the homestay was itself a destination to be explored with some breathtaking scenes. Mr Thakur was kind enough to plan out our detailed itinerary and show us around. We plucked plums around the property with his son ishaan, which was in itself an incomparable experience. Would rate it 10/10 on all parameters and cant wait to get back again. Thank you ishan log hut for giving us a life time memory.

Amazing homely stay in a quaint village of Bahu, ahead of Tirthan valley, the views are majestic and the air is so fresh and calm. Surrounded by tall pine forests and serenity. The rooms are well kept and modern. But most importantly it is the warm family-like hospitality of the hosts Prakash ji and his wife that made us visit for the second time, Jan 2023 was my second time visit here. I’d been here before in Nov 2012 and I will go again! They are very kind and gracious hosts who tend to each request with a smile, the meals are home cooked and super delicious, just what you would need in the cold weather! They helped us with arrangement for sightseeing and drop to the Aut bus stand as well.
And their sweet pet dog Boxy is a perfect companion who would lead the way for us when we’d go to sightsee the village! They will treat you like a family member :)

The rooms are super clean, modern bathrooms with hot water geyser and kettle. A room heater was provided as well along with super warm blankets, it was in minus degrees this January when we visited and we had zero problems sleeping. They also arranged a bonfire on our request. It had snowed just a day before we arrived.

The location is beyond beautiful , situated at the edge of the valley. You will see majestic dauladhar Himalayas from your room. You won’t see these mountains from Jibhi or banjar. There’s a pond and a quiet, beautiful forest just one min walk from the hotel.
The entire road after jibhi is stunning with tall deodar trees on both sides. Even walking amongst these trees feels like heaven. At night, the entire Tirthan valley lights up and above you will see the Milky Way and countless stars because almost no light and air pollution in this village. If you love nature- you will fall in love with this place.

this is No touristy commercialised place like Shimla and Manali. This is pure offbeat for nature lovers and those who want to seek solace in nature. But yet you will get 5g connectivity for Airtel and jio. There’s a big tower nearby so no problem for WFH folks.

Just take a cab from Aut tunnel- it’s about 2 hours max from there and rely on local cabs in the winter/rain as the roads can be very narrow and steep at certain points. And you can ask the hosts for directions or transport arrangements at they are very reliable and polite.

Cons? None, I would definitely come again for sure! ✨
Thank you Prakash ji for the wonderful hospitality in the mountains.

Mr.Palli Pallar was super impressed with the hospitality by Jai Thakur & his family. Our hunt for a private experience with great views and comfort concluded here. Nestled amongst the vast valleys of Himachal this place offers a mix of yesterday & tomorrow. Hygienic interiors, delicious food by his wife, borne fire in the nights, breakfast in the garden amongst the flowers was a surreal experience. Boxy(their pet dog) is an experience by herself. She protectively took us for short treks around the property to explore the sunset point by the lake. The vibe is peaceful and lets you feel at home in and out. A must add to your list of untouched places. Look forward to being here ,soon.

I have traveled around Himachal extensively, but there are still some wonders left which surprises me beyond my expectations! One such place was Bahu.
Tirthan is not new to many travellers, but as you know you cannot see the snow peaked Himalayas from most parts of Tirthan.
Bahu, however presents you with a beautiful view of the entire Tirthan snow peaked range and the entire mountain turning red during sunsets. A mesmerizing phenomenon to witness.
Coming to the propery, all of these natural wonders can be viewed sitting on the balcony of this beautiful place sipping tea. The rooms are huge, well maintained and beautifully constructed to give maximum benefit of the view.
The couple who hosted us at Ishan log huts, Jai Prakash Sir and his wife, are the most loving and warm hosts I have met. I visited with my elderly mother, and they took great care of her, making sure she was comfortable always and took us to places even she could enjoy without walking around much.
The food was delicious, home cooked and every thing Rimpa ji made, be it lunch, dinner or breakfast was super tasty..
Another bonus is their cutest pet dog Boxy, friendly, playful and loving!
If you go to this place, make sure you pay a visit to the old Bahu village which is pristine and tucked away safely from modernisation. You will be glad to get a glimpse of the authenticity and simplicity of the Himachali life.
Also try to cover the Chachgalu trek nearby up to Gada Gushaini that offers a view of the Kinnaur mountains on one side, and Dhauladhar on the other.
Hope you enjoy this place as much as we did.

Prakash Bhai, Rimple and Priya made our stay one of the most memorable. Their commitment to making the guests comfortable is commendable. Every request we made was fulfilled. The rooms were neat, clean and cosy. The views spectacular.
The food outstanding. Personal care to every small detail was done diligently. I would recommend anyone who is visiting this beautiful valley to not even think twice before deciding to stay at Ishan Log Huts. I do know I have made a friend in Prakash Bhai and would cherish every opportunity to visit his place again and again. Thanks for making our 8th anniversary so special and for all the great memories 😀😀

Being in the same industry, I have been visiting homestays for the past 10 years, but the stay at Ishan log House has been truly exceptional and memorable. I have never met a better host than Prakash ji and his family. The location is amidst such natural beauty n serenity, it's truly mesmerising and the best that nature could have provided for. No host before this has taken such pain to better our stay and that too to such an extent. Prakash ji knows every nook n corner of the valley and guided us with precision.

The rooms, linen and washrooms were cosy n immaculately clean.

The food was exceptional and local dishes couldn't have been better anywhere else in Himachal.

I would recommend everyone visiting the valley to stay at Ishan log huts without an iota of doubt.

I wish my stay could have been longer, but, certainly the incomplete desire will take me to The place again..

Had an amazing experience during this stay. Property is located in Bahu with breathtaking views from rooms as well as common area. Besides the surreal and picturesque location, hosts ensured that we had a great time - they arranged for bonfire and fed us amazing homecooked local as well as north indian meals, and suggested nearby places to visit. Will recommend this property to everyone for great location and even better hospitality :-)
