Not bad... But not great either... If I was the owner of a hot spring located in the Far North, I would make sure to have the outdoor pool as the main focus of my property. Not so... There are no lights by the pool, and you're supposed to enjoy a steaming hot jump into the unknown... It was my...

Chena Hot Springs is a mix of natural wonders, kitchy tourists stuff, and a varitey of accommodations that are charmingly hokey and functional. The hot springs are fantastic year round, but my favorite time to visit is in winter when everything is covered in hoarfrost and looks like a fairy land. The remote setting is a great place to watch...

Stayed 2 nights- Room was tiny: needed repairs, new mattress and a good cleaning. Staff generally friendly. Restaurant very expensive food not so great. Hot springs nice, but locker rooms beat up and way too small. An o.k. place to visit would not care to return. It is very dated! ts

I really like hot springs so we detoured on our way to come to Chena. It is a quaint little resort that definitely has seen better days. But it is still maintained, with a lot of facilities and self sufficient enough to spend a good amount of time here without the need to go out. We had a motorhome site...

We were a year in planning for this vacation and was very excited about Chena. We were there early Sept 2014 so I understand all the greenery/flowers in all their photos would not be there - but we were so disappointed with the property. We were in the family suite which was very dated and not very clean. It was...

We would go back in a heartbeat. Room was simple but clean and comfortable. We found the staff all charming particularly our shuttle driver Tony. Don't bother dog sledding here though. We went with Sled Dog Adventures in Fairbanks for a 10 mile ride on the Chena River. We were fortunate and witness the lights three nights in a row...

My experience at Chena Hot Spring Resort was memorable. Connor your front desk staff is exceptionally helpful and very competent. Though we had to go through 14 bottles of Dasani water, it was ok as the water from the faucet was high in iron. Experiencing the Aurora Borealis was magnificient, and soaking in the Hot Spring. That's a WOW! We...

Overall a huge disappointment, but I don't think management gives a damn. When I called to make the reservation, the girl made it clear to me 4 times that there were no refunds or cancellations-- like I'm going to get ulcers if I lose $139, which I wish I had. Their web site specifically states wifi is available for a...

I stayed here last year for their Santa Package. It was my second stay and I thought I knew what I was getting into when I came again. First off, it is very much a "motel" type experience. The hotel is older and is in the wilds of Alaska, so I would never have the expectation that it would be...

I recently spent three nights at Chena Hot Springs and came away with a less than satisfying experience. The room in the main lodge was comfortable after we learned to open windows to control the heat. We had to inquire about this at the front desk. The food offered in the restaurant was very good and service tended to be...
