We stayed with family, 7 people, in El Tejar for a week in October 2015. It is beautiful. Set in the hillside above the 'White Village' of Montecorto. The villa is a climb up quite a steep road and has lots of stairs to access it. Inside it is charming with 4 bedrooms all with ensuites. A fully equipped kitchen,...

We booked El Tejar for two weeks in August 2013, mixed family group comprising ages 11 to 83. The villa itself is outstanding. 4 lovely bedrooms, all en-suite, and loads of different areas for relaxing inside and out. Kitchen and dining space all perfect with everything you could need for a high class self catering holiday. Art, books and music...

Imagine a small village on the hillside in the "Pueblo Blanca" area of Andalucia, Spain. At the top of the village is a multi-storied house with white stucco and color everywhere. A swimming pool with views of the hills and rooms with unusual colors and terrific views as well. El Tejar is a place for reflection, for information on hiking...

Guy Hunter-Watts, the owner of the place is a super host. When my wife & I stayed there, their where three other couples resident. We where concerned about having dinner on our first nights stay, sitting around the table with six complete strangers, but it was great, all having a common interest, mainly in walking. The following morning, Guy was...

What a find!! El Tejar is nestled at the top of a small local village, 20 minutes from Ronda. Guy (the owner) made us feel especially welcome from the moment we arrived. The house is basically expected to be used as your home whilst staying there. You have access to a bar (nominal charge, 1 EURO per beer or glass...

This was my fifth stay at El Tejar. I love the location: its is the highest house in the village and the views (I have my favourite room ´Cadiz') are simply amazing. As soon as you walk in through the front door you feel like you're coming home and this place is really true to what the owner claims: 'mi...

El Tejar is a magical place to stay. The relaxed atmosphere is a credit to the character of the owner, Guy. Help yourself to a drink, put on a CD (the choice is wide) and look out at the beautiful view of the Andalusian mountains. This was our third visit to El Tejar and we love it more each time....

we loved our stay at El Tejar - it is quirky and fun with a warm atmosphere. The hosts can't help you enough with advice from local restaurants to wonderful walks. Infact Guy, the owner took us on the most glorious walk through mountain passes and valleys littered with old oak and cork trees . Guy talked us through some...

“All the rooms are superb. For anyone who might struggle with lots of steps, the room next to the outside dining area is probably the best as it can be accessed from the outside door, avoiding the steep staircase indoors.”
