THe problem started right from when we tried to check-in. We booked two nights in an air conditioned room but was handed the key and told our booking was for two nights in a TENT.. although I had it in black and white on my confirmation stating clearly air conditioned room and the price, all the receptionist had to say...

Stayed here for one night and it was terrible. The rooms had wooden windows which could not be opened due to mosquito nets being fixed onto the windows. Furthermore the bathroom was moldy and looked unclean. I had already complained to the hotel staff about this matter but nothing was done. Upon checking out I thought a compensation or a...

A clean pool, ideal after a safari. I stayed in a tent which was a unique experience, but they are clean and comfortable. There was plenty of hotwater in the shower. A lovely deck area for each area allows you to relax and watch animal life. Dinner and lunch were fine, but as mentioned in another review breakfast is average.

Stayed in the tents which were lovely. The location is good close to the park nice grounds and good small pool to cool down in only problem only 5 sunbeds! Enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the fire flies in the trees. It was full but still very peaceful. Dinner was good but breakfast was terrible worst we had all...

We stayed for 2 nights with young kids to accommodate a safari and relaxation by the pool. The staff were very helpful and arranged transfers and the safari was arranged with ease and was fantastic. The location is ideal. The rooms are well designed and the outside bathroom is an excellent addition. Some areas seemed in need of tlc and...

The village is lovely. The rooms are large, the pool is nice and its a tranquil setting. However, the customer service is shocking. We didn't book our safari through the hotel and they therefore refused to give us a packed breakfast, despite offering them to guests who did book their safari through the hotel. They also refused to give our...

Kottowatta village is a nice place off the main road towards Udawalawe, just before the junction (on bus route from Embilipitya). the grounds are quite big, set near to a river. There were heaps of monkeys swinging through the trees right outside the back of the tent. The tents seemed hot and sticky to start with, but were actually really...

We stayed here for 1 night to do a safari in Udawalawe which was a good base, they also organised us a private safari which was pretty good as our driver was good at spotting wildlife although the shocks could do with replacing on the jeep as you could feel every bump. Room was basic with outdoor bathroom but did...

Well it was all a bit hit and miss! We stayed three nights - had a wonderful time on safaris arranged by the hotel (if you are interested in birds make sure you ask for Meshanti - he has a sharp eye ans excellent knowledge). Otherwise at times it was comical - all very Fawlty Towers - some classic mix...
