Cherai beach palace made our dream of a safe family get together true in these Covid times. We were a group of 26 people - ranging from 2 year old kid to 80+ old great grandmother. We booked the whole property for 2 nights. Pros: Great location. It is just across the beach. And this part of the beach is not at all busy. So we get a private beach feel. Nice and clean rooms. There are 4 sea view rooms that are really nice. There are 3 wooden rooms which are also nice with a heritage feel. Other than these, there are few basic single rooms which can also be used if there are more people. There is a very nice covered terrace area which we used to gather together and play some games. The cooks cooked the Kerala cuisine pretty well - both veg and non veg. Cons - I must say that they were not 100% prepared. The staff was new and they were not able to always help us quickly/adequately. Food was not always ready on time - With small kids and senior citizens, it was a concern for us. The cooks should up skill themselves beyond Kerala cuisine and also make better tea/coffee. Many of the rooms had AC issues and we had to get it repaired after the first night. But overall, the place and the host is really nice. With better staff, this will be a great choice for a good beach vacation with family/friends!…
The place is very clean and ventilated. It is rather a well maintained house. The room was a large with a huge balcony over looking the sea. The property is just by the beach and welcomes pet. They do not have a restaurant, but there are a lot of eatery and restaurants nearby. They have a refrigerator which you can use and they also provide ice. They have a spa too was the service was not very professional. They provide local breakfast which we didn't enjoy though we are open to all kind of food. The culinary skill was below normal.
The Authentic Kerala Style lodging was spacious and clean. We felt very comfortable here whether on the porch having a good home cooked meal or on the balcony for sunsets and yoga in the morning. The Staff made us feel at home. The owner even arranged a variety of wonderful activities for us including attendance of a Kathakali Traditional Indian Dance at a local temple. His knowledge and help with exploring the area was beyond anything we have experienced in India. I received some excellent treatments from the Cherai Ayurvedic Palace and am thankful to the staff there.
Going to a place with no expectations can be the best thing. This place was booked by a colleague of mine for a 6 member trip. It turned out to be a quaint as well as historic place, Shaiju has maintained the authenticity of the wooden house. I was offered a deluxe room,104, which probably had the best sea view. They also have direct access to beach, just cross the road. The place has warm running water and AC, TV and basics. What it lacks is a good running kitchen, so we orderer from a close restaurant, the food in cherai tends to be spicy and the liquor rates in bar can be prohibitive (buy your stock from a Beveco before coming here, the closest Beveco is 20km away) The best part of the Palace is the smiling and mild mannered owner cum manager Mr. Shaiju, he did all he could to make our stay comfortable, so guys go here for a basic stay don't expect great room service or luxury but if you don't mind a functional hotel with basics in place, this is the place!! The breakfast made by Chechi and served by Moumi was splendid ( Basic Puttu with Kadala). Dear Shaiju, i will be back with my family next year, hope by that time the kitchen gets better.…
This is the beach facing resort. The rooms were deceny near and clean . Just opening the windows we get a breeze from the beach. U get a complimentary breakfast and water bottle for each day of the stay. I had stayed here in Feb 18.you have a spa attached to this resort compound. Recommended to stay!

Cherai beach stretches north quite a way on Vypin island and the further north you go the quieter and cleaner it is. There are several hotels with similar names but I chose Cherai Beach Palace for its location opposite the sea and its position at the northerly, quiet end. I chose a top floor room with a balcony overlooking the beach and I was not disappointed. The staff are helpful and friendly and the manager, Vijay, was extremely nice. Breakfast is delivered to your room and is included in the price. The room is large with good a/c and very good wi-fi, with the usual kind of bathroom you get in most Indian hotels. Home cooked food is available for lunch and dinner at the hotel for a reasonable price but there is no restaurant and no menu per se, whatever is being cooked is what you get - this was nice though. Within easy walking distance is a small snack shop and a western style resort restaurant which was very good. The beach here is clean though the surf can be rough and the available sand area is limited. Staff will take beach chairs and umbrellas down to the beach for you and it's certainly possible to swim as long as you take great care with the weather conditions. I loved my 3 extremely relaxing days here. Alcohol purchases can be arranged.…
