Budget friendly stay. Close to the Cherai beach. They don't have much amenities to offer. The rooms were clean, not too big though. We had a private seating area outside the room. They have a nice lawn to chill. Indeed a peaceful property. Our room had a backwaters view(not all rooms have the view, so mention it while booking). Staff was good. Got complimentary breakfast, which was quite okay.

We were a group of 12 people with many senior citizens, had booked for 03/27 (1 Night), 6 rooms including a family room. Room condition were pathetic. Forget about the basic amenities in some of the rooms the fan's were also not working. Every rooms were missing basic amenities. Rooms were not cleaned, bed sheets were not clean. Sitting area attached to the rooms were in a pathetic condition, you just wont like sitting in that place. In some rooms the room ceiling were being eaten by termites and tiny wood particles were falling down on to the bed. No coffee making supplies or kettle available in the room. We had to walk to the restaurant to have a morning cup of tea, although the tea served was good.. Breakfast choice was limited, choice between idli+sambar+chutney or toasted bread with butter and jam. Tea/ coffee and juice was served too. Stagnant water topped with trash or decayed algae greet you at multiple spots. The so called back water lake which touches the property was in a pathetic condition. Imagine seeing a dead chicken in the water touching the property. Lack of parking space, we were made to park our cars in nearby property space. Don't know even if that property belonged to the Resort. Also the space where we were made to park our cars were in a pathetic space. Overnight I had parked the car, next day morning the car was completely covered with decayed fruits which fell from the tree where we were made to park of cars. My reaction after visiting this property, have I come to a resort or a Ayurvedic center. Seems an Ayurvedic Center was converted into a Resort as is. Definitely if the property is managed better, this would be a good place to spend time with your friends and family.

It all started as we entered the property... lack of parking space for vehicles.... maybe they look forward only to formal tourist who arrive in rented vehicles, not the guests who drive down A stroll through the property.... impression you gathered from the photographs in here and their own site will let you down once you are here. Pretty small a piece of land... ill maintained... stagnant water topped with trash or decayed algae greet you at multiple spots We had chosen the first class air conditioned rooms in the heritage wing. Rooms were spacious.. opened the toilet to see whats in store there.... thank god i didn’t throw up.. couldn’t stand the stench for a minute.. we had to request a change of room.. owing to non availability.. we had to settle for one room which was smaller and without a television... however... surprises did continue... a toilet with a glass door... thats one hell of an interior deco idea...we decided not to complain further... accepted the room The towels were clean.. toilet supplies... limited to a single small cake of soap... No coffee making supplies or kettle available in the room. We had to walk to the restaurant to have a morning cup of tea... the tea served was good.. Bfast was very meagre... choice between idli+sambar+chutney or toasted bread with butter and jam. Tea/ coffee and juice was served too. Beach which is at a walking distance from the resort is mostly a rock wall with a view... not a sand beach... you need to drive 2-3 kms before you can gain access to a decent beach Overall... not an experience to cherish

Get connected with the nature and relax in a scenic and quiet place. This property is well suited for this. We stayed at premium backwater view cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Place is very calm. You can watch the fishermen's Chinese fishing nets. Sunrise boat ride. The staff are very friendly. Food was amazing. A mini collection of books available to pass the time. Moon light dinner was fantastic. Access to the beach is within 10 mnts walk. Only disadvantage we found was the access to the hotel and parking. The Hotel has to place proper sign boards in the main road. We could find the location only with the help of Google map. Otherwise I would strongly recommend this place for a relaxed stay.

We stayed four nights in this small resort that is located on the thin "island" of Cherai. The island is about 200m wide – so on one side you can look at the backwater lake and then on the other side just 2 minutes' walk and you can swim on the Indian Ocean. In short - great location. Short walking distance there are some small restaurants, and in further walking (or better by cycling) there are more restaurants including a couple of bars. The excellent elephants restaurant serves multi-cuisine with focus on Indian food (can be mild - per your request). The included breakfast is simple but a good one with option for continental or south-Indian. There is no buffet. Note that les 3 elephants don't serve alcohol and so are 99% of the restaurants in Cherai area. The rooms are comfortable though not too spacious. There are mosquitoes in the area, so you'll need to keep your room tight to avoid them entering – not all rooms have nets. Finally, the staff was so friendly and super helpful – with a lot of good advice on things to do. With their help we rented a motorbike and a scooter. Cochin is about 1 hour drive and a short ferry ride - and is recommended day tour. Ayurvedic treatments are available but we didn't try it. I rate as 4 instead of 5 because of the value ($$).

Thanks to the management, we could stay 2 nights in this wonderful environment (switching rooms was fairly easy). The evening boat ride was peaceful and touring fishing nets at a time fishermen would put them to water. Breakfast and menus are inspired from a French touch, and tasteful. And overall, the staff is friendly and helpful. We loved that place, the best we had in Kerala !

On an impromptu urge, i landed up in cherai. Visakh was gracious to answer all my doubts on a telephonic call and book the premium room for the day. The resort is quaint and cute. It looks big in the photos, but it's just right.. The dining area is very small and their 'library' has only french books. Limited veg food options, but the chef made me my peas pulav and raita which was really tasty. The resort is 2.5, kms from the main beach. Autos are easily available (rs.50-60) to reach to and fro. I got uber also easily to return back to.kochi. The massage by vinduja was good, but don't expect a fancy spa room and bathroom. The charge is very nominal, but have to pay cash for the massage. The room was kinda small (i felt for that price), has no telephone to contact the reception/room service. The bed with mosquito net was super comfy to sleep in. Wish they had thicker curtains near the shower area so that u don't fear anyone peeping in. Carry your moisturizing lotion, since they don't provide it in the toiletries. Anything u ask, they are very helpful to do it. The backwaters are beautiful.. Breakfast was table served with continental and Indian options. Overall a nice stay. The lights in the garden make u feel happy in evening. Good place to chill!

Really friendly and helpful staff. Great setting onto the backwaters; the boat ride is a must. Nice and calm garden. Excellent food with creating "chef". Possibility to have access to swimming pool at "le petit elephant" nearby. Bedroom with AC are large with confortable large bed and nice bathroom. If you choose Standard Cottage as room, be aware there is fan, but no AC.
