Nice little boutique hotel in RINCON. Close to the beach, rooms are spacious and the hotel has a back up generator in case of power outages due to weather. We stayed in a room that also had a private balcony which was nice for a morning coffee. We didn’t use other amenities like the small pool but I imagine it can come in handy for kids or adults who want to chill/lounge around. The room was clean, and had everything we needed. Be advised that there is no room cleaning or service, you have to pay for new towels at the front desk and they are only available during a certain time of the day which wasn’t really convenient (that was the only downside of this hotel really). Access to room is via lockbox which is communicated by the hotel well before check in time, overall it was a smooth experience and would recommend it.

Ideal to relax, beautiful, quiet place. Clean and comfortable rooms. Jacuzzi in a perfect place to look at the stars. The location is perfect for couples who want a relaxing time and rest. There is also atmosphere and music below in front of the beach in Tamboo. The sound of the music does not bother the hotel allowing you to be relaxed

We liked this place until we went to bed when we found long, short, straight, or curly hair on the bedsheets (on both beds).( See attached photos.) We found a green gooey stain on one bed which looked like mucus and yellow stains on the other. We went downstairs to look for new bedsheets but nobody was available because after 4:30 PM. We found the phone number to text them but nobody responded. We ended up wearing long sleeve clothes to sleep on the filthy beds. The views are good , but the curtains are very difficult to open to show the view. The shower water was either scolding hot or cold. It is tricky to turn on the shower faucet which sometimes cannot bring enough water pressure to trigger the water heater that is attached to the faucet above.

We were in room 12 on the 3 floor. It was lately renovated in modern style. The room and the bathroom were both spacious. There are two king beds and one twin bed. The TV sits on the side which is difficult to look at. The bathroom is clean - even the grouts are clean. We all liked the soap bars the provided. When we asked for more clean towels, there were no problems when we asked and they nicely gave them to us.

This place is beautiful, but be aware that there is NO night staff, so if you have a question after 4 pm, too bad! The number they provide for after hours questions, or service does not respond. My room was FREEZING, so I turned up the thermostat and the air shut down! There was an ERR on it's display. It would not turn back on until I lowered it all the way down to where I was, once again, freezing. They do NOT have a water dispenser, or machine where you can purchase water. They are pretty far from any stores, so you really can't leave to buy drinks once you're down for the night. Guests should be informed of this in advance.

Upon arrival we learned of the special instructions to keep the A/C on and set below 72 degrees for no less than 12 hours at a time (very uncomfortable and not listed in the hotel description). There was also a very noisy dehumidifier plugged in that ran constantly. We emptied its large collection reservoir 9 times over the course of a 2 days!! The room was freezing cold and VERY humid upon arrival and during the entire stay. The bathroom ceiling collapsed one night and exposed a water leak with mold everywhere, rendering the bathroom useless. The hotel blamed me for the damages, said there was no mold present and tried to charge me $1,500 to fix it. Thank goodness Booking.com stepped in and helped me resolve the issue! This place needs to stop taking reservations and fix their humidity problem, the mold is going to make someone sick.

Great little guesthouse walking distance from a couple of bars/restaurants and the beach! However, not in the main section of town (didn’t bother us as we had a car). Rooms were clean and very large, however towels seemed a bit old and flimsy and the rooms were either humid or air conditioned so the towels didn’t dry very well. Check in process very easy. Pool was good, had sun in morning and more shaded in afternoon.

We reserved this hotel because a friend recommendation. Windows are broken, the bathroom looks like a cheap MOTEL, the "jacuzzi" is way smaller than it looks. NO ONE will help you, there's no hospitality to take care of any need/request. On top of that we had reserved for two nights, we left last night around 4am due to the incompetence of the place. We pay for two nights, stayed for 4 hours and our stuff is missing. We called to resolve the issue and they push us away telling us that they looked our room and there's nothing there.

Response from Serenity Rincon, Owner at Serenity Rincon

It's a shame that people will use a forum like this one to try and steal from small businesses like us. Here's the truth. This reservation was made for 2 adults for a room with one king bed. They called at 10pm their arrival date wanting to change their reservation to a 2 bed room because a 3rd person was coming along with them, which we were not told. We did not have another room available at that time. We talked to them the next day through phone, they told us that they had found a different place to stay and that they will be checking out. They left the keys in the lockbox, we cleaned the room, nothing was left behind in the room but an open bag of sanitary napkins. They returned to the property around 9pm but we had changed the code to the lockbox. I think their purpose is pretty clear. We have people on site all day long and we will go to distance to pamper our guests. The room they rented is one of our "Clouds" you can access photos of the room in our web page and decide for yourself if the room is suitable for you :)

Our room was on the third floor. The walls in the hallway were soaking wet along with the door knob. The room lock box that was supposed to house the key was empty. We contacted management for a key about 4 o’clock when we checked in, with no response. We had no way to lock the door for our stay. Inside, the room was damp and the air-conditioning was blowing full blast. The room was very bare, with no furniture to set your things on. The bathroom had no vanity, no washcloth or bathmat, nor soap dish in the shower. There was what looked like mildew on the walls. There was a large dip in the center of the king bed.
Not everything was awful. The view from the full plate glass window was beautiful. The room came with a refrigerator and a coffee maker.

When we arrived we found that the futon where our son was going to sleep was broken. We contacted the management and they said they were full and there was nothing they could do. We talked to Booking and they called. The manager lied to Booking saying they offered us another room. They never came to see the bed or contacted us. Unethical manager who lies. Avoid!!!!!

Response from Serenity Rincon, Owner at Serenity Rincon

We have many types of rooms, we have rooms with 2 beds, and rooms with 1 bed and futon. We usually send descriptions of the rooms before arrival day and communicate with our guests at least 3 times before arrival so they can have an informed and make decisions based on their needs. We have limited spaces, 24 rooms, which are usually full in holidays and weekends. Rooms also have different prices according to number of beds and how many people we can accommodate in each one. We understand that a futon is not as comfortable as a bed and we would have gladly change your reservation if we would have had the space. You should have also mentioned that partial refund was issue for your troubles, thank you for all messages (7 and counting) coming from you with different names and accounts. Happy Trails!!

Quiet, clean, and friendly... We were here for 4 days during the PURMTB Cup races in Rincon and it was a perfect home base. The guesthouse is quiet at night, there's a view of the ocean in the distance, and we were close to stuff along the beach for breakfast and coffee, etc. Being a little ways away from the main town was a bonus (traffic there was insane) and we were happy with the service. I'd totally stay here again.

Hi! having a rental to enjoy the area is the best way to travel in this area. It is about 40 minutes driving distance from Rincon town to the center of Moca. Most rooms do not have a balcony in our property, we do have many common areas with comfortable sitting. Please visit our web page to see room pictures and a more detailed description. The difference between rooms is mostly num of beds, and # of people it can host, some apartments have a kitchen. Happy Trails!!

We are walking distance to the beach, some restaurants and night life but we highly recommend you have a car rental. The area is off the beaten path, small windy roads, safe environment but a bit dark at night to walk.
