We just got back from spending a week at Casa Islena and we are already missing it. The inn itself is well appointed and perfectly situated right on the ocean and within walking distance to restaurants, bars, yoga, and several surf breaks. We stayed in a smaller room for half of our stay and when we saw one of the ocean front rooms being cleaned we asked if we could upgrade and they moved us into the ocean front room with balcony without any charge. It could have been nicer of them. We loved having the balcony to sit on and watch the surfers and whales (yes - so many whales!) and the sunsets each night. The pool was so nice to have too if you don't surf and want to cool off. Every morning I went to yoga across the parking area and my husband surfed multiple times a day. It was the perfect place for us. Domes beach, Marias beach, Pools beach as well as other great restaurants and bars are all within a few minutes drive from Casa Islena. We absolutely loved Rincon and would happily stay at Casa Islena again on our next trip!!

Just returned from a 4 day stay at this wonderful inn. Location is perfect if you are looking for a place right in front of the beach. I loved the fact that the pool faces the ocean and you have full view of the beach. The room was very cozy and tastefully decorated in a beach theme. Everything looked clean and modern. ( being next to the beach requires a lot of maintenance and the whole inn was spotless) Very private and quiet. The perfect getaway for the pandemic that requires social distance since we hardly saw or interacted with other guests. When we arrived there was no staff at the inn, keys and instructions were left on site. Easy to access and no problem getting to our room. Nancy, the inn representative came in during the daytime and was very friendly and helpful. Answered our questions and got us some ice. Rooms have a small refrigerator, so you can bring your favorite beverage since there is no restaurant or bar on site. The only downside was that because of the pandemic, the restaurant is currently closed and there is no coffe machine in the rooms. So, coffe lovers, you must get in the car to get a cup of coffe because none of the walking distance locations serve coffe in the morning. The closest we found was Cafe 413 a short drive from the inn. For dinner and lunch there are plenty of nearby restaurants to choose from.
Highly recommend this inn for anyone who wants a quiet and beautiful getaway!

I’ve been to Rincon 5 times over 15 years. This time we stayed at Casa Islena and it was lovely. It’s only 9 rooms and due to limited availability we stayed in a standard room. Very small but the quiet location with a pool right on the beach at the end of the road, can’t be beat. Breakfast was ok, but it’s in walking distance of a few bars/cafes with good breakfast/lunch/dinner options. Be careful in the ocean. Sandy Beach right in front of Casa Islena is notorious for rip currents. My freind was pulled out several hundred feet in seconds and had a hard time getting back in. If it was not for his calm, and effort to swing parallel to the beach, it could have been a trashed. Apparently there are several drownings per year at Sandy Beach.

We stayed in the lower level overlooking the pool and loved it. The room was spacious and clean. Housekeeping was on point and the staff couldn’t be more friendly and accommodating. Having a great restaurant and bar outside our room made for a lively atmosphere (we enjoyed the live music and the ambience of tiki torches at night). The staff was very conscientious of guests and quieted the place before 10pm. Sleeping with the lull of ocean waves was very relaxing. We can’t thank the staff enough for a wonderful stay and look forward to being back.

Casa Islena was a happy accident. While we were not staying there [we were at Kasa Maui down the road] we ate at Casa Islena every day. The attention to detail is what makes it. From the shape of the tables that allow for sitting close together with your love, each with it's own umbrella to accommodate sun and rain. To the beautiful location to hear the waves cashing and see the sun setting. You want to feel relaxed, heard and be well fed etc., on vacation. Casa Islena has it all. The brunch was plentiful, fresh and hot when served. Fresh juice, delicious coffee. The dinner portion were plentiful and loaded with fresh local flavor. The staff....forget it!!!. A restaurant can have the best food but if it comes with a scowl from a server it is all down hill. Every single staff member at Casa Islena seems to by in sync. From the lovely receptionist, hostess, table servers and runner/bus person. Light conversation, knowledgeable of the area and willing to offer suggestions that only improved an already great vacation. When service is that good it's because managers create a good atmosphere. Let me end with this, you must have the FLAN!!!! If you have had flan before and thought, not for me, have it again. It is homemade and the best I have ever had. I can't wait to return to this beautiful gem in Ricon.

We stayed at Casa Islena November 3-6, 2021. We were celebrating our 10th anniversary. A few years ago we had breakfast there and I said I wanted to stay there one day so in July I booked it. We booked a king room with a balcony. When we checked it a very nice lady escorted us to our room and showed us how to use the keypad on the door. She also amswered any questions we had. When we entered the room, I realized it wasn't the room I thought I had booked. I thought I booked the one next to it, the last room, with more of a private balcony. I went down to inquire and she looked into my reservation and said the other couple had that room booked months prior to us. But she explained the rooms are almost identical. Seeing my disappointment, she offered us two free drinks at the bar. That was very kind of her to do! We ended up loving our room. the bathroom, closet area and shower were huge. The bed was very comfortable. The air conditioner worked very well and we could control it with a remote. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. We watched all the surfers. The beach out front is NOT a swimming beach. We had to drive 9 minutes to get to the beach in town with the calm water. (It is next to the Black Eagle Marina so put that in your GPS for directions.) The restaurant at Casa Islena was outatanding! We ate there twice for breakfast and once for dinner. There was live music at dinnertime. The food was so fresh and delicious! The servers were very attentive and nice! We really had a great time staying at Casa Islena. I highly recommend it!

Went down to PR for the first time with some recommendations from a few long time friends. Casa Islena hit the mark on every point. Woke up every day to surf less than 100 yards from my door. Surfed some fun waves and then had a six session of some overhead clean waves. The staff was awesome, the people are laid back and overall will be going back here again. Thank you to the whole crew at Casa Islena !!

Casa Islena sadly has changed. It is no longer "a place of tranquility and relaxation" as the website indicates. it is now more of a night club than a hotel. I am glad to see that since our stay last week (2/14-2/17/24) an alert has been added to their website about the 7 day a week night club ambiance. You need to know that the musicians bring loud, huge speakers, so you will hear the music and DJ all through the hotel (we met guests from the upstairs rooms who shared the same experience) and more predominantly in the two rooms next to the pool (where we stayed) Also, the website states the music ends at 9pm. It doesn't and instead it ends at 10pm, although the concierge told us 9:30pm but the restaurant staff kept the loud music going until 10pm. This also means that the drunk restaurant guests stay late. The restaurant staff also have to clean up. They move tables, bang dishes and talk loudly late into the night. We couldn't go to bed until midnight when the loud music, restaurant staff and non hotel guests left. The restaurant opens early at 7am so you are awaken by moving tables and the kitchen banging dishes etc. You also can't relax by the pool since the pool area has been replaced by restaurant tables. Therefore, you have to share the pool with many restaurant guests. We were here on a vacation, but I also wouldn't select it for business travel. I would have to head out to the beach area (no connection) to work and take business calls. We have visited Casa Islena in the past and truly enjoyed our stay; thus the reason we selected to stay here again. We had no idea of the changes the new ownership made. Had we known of the new "ambiance" as the owner told us we would have easily selected a different hotel. Full, honest disclosure of the new ambiance would have been much appreciated. Also, if you have a car, hotel guests do not have parking priority. Most nights we had to park away from the hotel since the limited hotel parking is taken by all the night club guests. Sadly, we will not be returning to this once beautiful and once truly tranquil hotel

Eight of us went for dinner. Seven meals were very poor. Pasta dishes with just cooked pasta— no oil/butter/garlic, just a few shrimp. Salad ordered as dinner with an appetizer was skimpy. Rice and beans to go with a dinner were substituted with root vegtable(which tastes fine when done right). Five of eight dishes were just slightly warm, not close to being hot. For the cost, very disappointed. Sat next to the pool at a table to eat. Don’t bother…

Spectacular! This is a true island paradise, everyone in our family loved it, from grandparents to adult son, to teenage grandsons. Beautiful locale, ambience, and comfort. We arrived just before sunset, and even the 14 and 17 year olds were taken in by the view.

A smallish, boutique hotel, with pool, beautiful scenery, excellent restaurant, attentive staff, and even a cute small dog, Morena, to keep us company. Without realizing it, we got the best room in the place, second floor king, with a private balcony and view of the sea. My son and his kids had the poolside double Queen. All they had to do was walk out of their door, and they were at the pool, ordering breakfast.

Fell asleep to the sound of the waves hitting the shore, woke up to the sound of the Coqui singing his song. . Everything was perfect. Absolutely 100% recommend!
Note other reviewers mention that they do not have a swimming beach, but as we knew this ahead of time, it was not a problem, and there are calm, swimming beaches nearby.
At the end of our 10 day trip around the whole island with my son and grandsons, and after staying in a super-duper resort with multiple pools etc, everyone of all age groups said that Casa Isleña was the best part of the whole vacation.

Walking distance from Casa Isleña is Tamboo great place, great view, great food. A short drive away less than 10minutes Red Flamboyan and Franciscos inside The Lazy Parrot Hotel. Like 15 or 20 minutes away you will have the downtown area with more choices like Ana de Cofresi inside Villa Cofresi Hotel they make great steaks and yummy rice & beans. Other great local restaurants in the area go to trip advisor under Rincon top ten Restaurants.Ennoy

I have always rented a car, however I wanted to mention that I hope you are not flying in to San Juan! Aguadilla (BQN) airport is about 45 minutes to an hour drive, whereas San Juan is 3 hours- more in traffic.... Casa Islena is fabulous, on one of the best breaks in Rincon, but there is a lot of other beaches and restaurants worth going to. Street walk on Tuesday night downtown, RBC (rincon's craft brewery) and a lot of other food and drink options... I recommend having a car, but if not, hopefully aguadilla over SJ will save you a small fortune in taxi fees, plus more time on the beach! cheers! enjoy your trip!
