We stayed in the 2 bedroom lodge for 4 nights enjoying amazing views over Cable Bay vineyard and back into Auckland city . Beautiful accommodation with great indoor/outdoor flow . Location perfect - 3 minutes drive from the ferry and 3 minutes to Oneroa with is eclectic mix of shops and cafes overlooking a beautiful beach . Mudbrick vineyard is a 300 metre walk and further afield the 30 minute drive to Man O’War vineyard is well worth it . Thanks Jan for making us so welcome in your stunning Cable Bay Views lodge

We recently stayed at Cable Bay Views (studio 3). It’s a great set up, comfortable, well appointed, modern and comfortable. Great views, close (ie 5 ish mins walk) to Cable Bay, Mudbrick and Allpress, communicative owners, and reasonable value. Few points: - shame the fan in the bathroom automatically goes on synched to the bathroom lights (a pain at night!) and the bathroom bin was broken, the bathroom underfloor heating is great, the modern tv that comes out of the wall is great also!, kitchen is perfectly fine given I suspect barely anyone who stays there, eats there.

Very popular given its location I imagine and we certainly would recommend it. Just a couple of small things to fix or potentially improve.

Stayed for one night over weekend in January. Wonderfully appointed room and in a spotless condition. A short taxi ride from the ferry terminal. The views were stunning, tranquil and romantic. A short walk to Mudbrick which was the highlight.

Would have liked daily refills of coffee and milk. Otherwise very nice if you want privacy. Gentle walk to town past vineyards and native bush. Surrounded by bird life

We stayed in the 2 bedroom lodge. Gorgeous panoramic view of hills, lovely decor, extremely clean, and well equipped. Significant issue for us was the poor wifi - rarely connected and even when connected, extraordinarily slow and only worked in certain rooms. This was a persistent problem and prevented us from staying in touch with work via email, Skype etc. as needed. This is not acceptable given that Wifi is expressly referred to on the website. Another downside was the lecture we received on the house rules on arrival. We are all property owners ourselves and extremely respectful of property. Rather than lecturing paying guests on arrival and creating a feeling of discomfort and almost paranoia (about touching anything or having friends over for a glass of wine and a bite to eat on a balcony that is clearly catering to that), I would suggest that the owners do background checks before confirming bookings and then relax a little. Final downside is just the feeling that you're staying in someone's home that has been vacated for you rather than a permanent rental - not everyone would be bothered by that though.

A great location, good building, lovely vineyard and countryside views but the standards of this property let it down.

At check in you'll get a lecture about how people damage things and made to sign a form with your credit card details just in case you're one of those types. Whatever happened to hospitality and being made to feel like a valued guest. Given the average cleaning standards and the cheap furnishings, I'm not sure what there would be of value to damage.

This property just needs to lift its game and the location would be worthy of it. You're on the edge of a vineyard, what about some proper wine glasses. Nobody wants half used boxes of teabags or a grimy cruet set. Nobody wants old used magazines from several years ago.

The housekeeping standards were poor and the photos in this review show those.

What a shame as this property is in a great location with beautiful views and close access to wineries, Oneroa and all that Waiheke has to offer.

We booked the lodge (two bedrooms) for a long weekend trip to Waiheke with friends. A bit embarrassed that even though we live in Auckland and had visited Waiheke many times for day trips (or sailed around it) this was the first time we had actually stayed on the island.

First impressions were ... WOW! The accommodation is new, fresh, tastefully decorated but also really "homely". Rae, the owner, was really flexible so we could settle in early. After seeing the kitchen layout and view we quickly cancelled our pre-booked restaurant for dinner in favour of cooking and eating in. It was perfect that the lodge comes with a pantry that allows you to knock out a great meal, pour a wine and relax in paradise. We didn't entertain guests but there is plenty of space, chairs and crockery that you could.

Rooms (one with an ensuite) were both lovely and showers were fabulous. Huge TV, great sound system and a few book or magazines are available for browsing.

The accommodation is a short walk (3 minutes) from several vineyards and maybe 30 minutes into Oneroa township. Bush and beach walks are just as handy. We stayed for 3 days so brought our car to explore a bit further afield but frankly the island is well served by taxis and buses and getting around is no problem. Rae gave some tips for walks and restaurants and we felt like we were staying at a friends holiday home (a very flash one) rather than a business guest house.

We loved our time here and would look to book Cable Bay Views if returning. CBV + FFD + Waiheke = LOVE

Lovely welcome and friendly host. Modern, clean, quiet accommodation with fridge, microwave, tv and wifi. Comfy bed, beautiful views to Cable Bay vineyards, conveniently located by three of the best vineyards - Jurrasic Ridge (a must visit) Cable Bay and Mudbrick. Private studio (in block with 2 others). Would definitely come back. But do close the windows to keep out the mozzies at night!

Such a beautiful place, everything within unit was amazing, bathroom, bed, condiments, location is very easy walking distance to 2 stunning wineries.
Communication was fabulous too the lady was very helpful within the entire booking service.
I took 1 star off because in the morning when we were packing up just about to finish packing and loo stop (I’m 8months pregnant) ... a man opened the door without knocking and asked us if we are leaving? Ummmm yes (my goodness it’s literally bang on 10am at this very minute) can u give us 1min just getting the last of our things together. He then said ok cleaners are coming in whilst you do that. Iv never experienced this in my life of Travel !! For the price of this place I expect ALOT more really gutted actually as it was a stunning stay and to get bombarded like that with 4 cleaners around us in the room while my husband was in his underwear kicking us out I felt very rushed like we may of left something before we knew it sheets where everywhere and we were kicked out at 5min passed 10! So this is something i hope they improve cause that was very disappointing.
