Great stay and very helpful staff. Clean and comfortable. Parking was just the job. Well worth a visit. Very close to the beautiful beach and the small shops and bars. Continental breakfast great and very well stocked. A great find

Pleasant accommodations, very friendly receptionist. The smaller room in the junior suite is a bit small and claustrophobic-- there's no window--other than that a very nice place. Complimentary breakfast and dinner and an easy stroll to the seafront.

Lovely boutique hotel a block away from the promenade. We have stayed here before. The Double Superior rooms with balcony are excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel is understated in a nice way. We will certainly be back and strongly recommend it to all. This time the weather has been dreadful but we are just passing through...

This was a great find for a hotel stay, clean comfortable and reasonably priced. The hotel itself was within easy reach of all amenities yet distant enough that it was peaceful and secluded. The hotel itself was efficiently run and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was relaxed and plentiful. The room itself was clean and the bed...

A lovely hotel situated in the old part of town, reminiscent of the Costa Brava 30 years ago. With easy walking access to a wealth of shops, bars and restaurants, there is little parking in the narrow nearby streets, but the hotel provides secure parking just one block away at a reasonable daily rate. The hotel itself is very modern,...

Suzie and I stayed 1 night in this very swish and funky hotel. The staff were excellent, especially Martine who is a lovely lady and made us feel very welcome. Suzie commented that it's the small attention to detail that made the difference, like free tea and coffee, L'Octtaine toiletries in the bathroom. Tip top breakfast, just as we thought...

We stayed for two nights in hotel Carmen and were very pleased with the location which is less then 3 min walk from the center and beach. Breakfast was very good and the staff was very welcoming and kind. The only negative thing is that the parking is about 5 min walk from the hotel and there is no place...

We were driving - without GPS, I know, I know.... so this hotel was a little difficult to find. Once we settled in, it was a terrific location. Less than 2 blocks from the beach, a million restaurants within walking distance . The staff was very helpful with whatever our needs. We had a large 9 passenger van, totally crazy...

We spent two nights at the hotel in July of this year. The rate was very reasonable and the hotel is 2 minutes from the beach. You can also park in the municipal parking lot (about 5 minutes walk) for free during the week.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Carmen is a tribute to Carmen & Josep, who first started welcoming travellers in their humble home in the early 1950's. The three buildings that make up the property have been recently refurbished and turned into a contemporary mediterranean hotel with a peaceful and delicate design that evoques those times. The house is located in the center of town among locals and their daily lives, and just 50m from the beach and Roses' magnificent sunset promenade. There are various rooms types available for guests, ranging from large rooms with balconies and terrasses, to smaller ones with windows. What all rooms have in common are great ergonomic mattresses & pillows, WiFi, a laptop sized safe, minibar, satelite TV, plus l'Occitane amenities and a haidryer in the bathroom. All rounded up with a nice breakfast with plenty of local products and freshly made coffee. For travellers arriving by car a garage is available as well. ... more   less
