First thing that strikes you the most is the safety protocol being adhered to.. Staff are courteous and very welcoming with exceptional service. Rooms are very spacious , well maintained and with a beautiful view - Serene feeling sets in once you open the windows. A well landscaped garden opens out to the majestic Vembanad lake and the view is breath taking. Lots of activities for kids , this involves fishing , pedal boat ride , out door games and a massive swimming pool facing the lake. Food is tasty and staff in the restaurant are super friendly. Over all a memorable trip for the entire family.

It is the 1st time we have visited the Lake Canopy resort. I must say we were very impressed with the rooms, ambiance, surrounds and especially the extremely friendly staff who are always there to serve with a smile. The Manager Mr Romesh was very helpful and friendly. Our room facing the lake was an awesome location and seeing the sun rise from our room window was a memorable sight always to be treasured.the food is excellent too and I can recommend this place to anyone visiting Allepey. We stayed for single night in this hotel due to packed itinerary but very suitable for leisure stay. We had taken lake view rooms with excellent lake and garden view. We can able to see sunrise on the lake boundary even lying in our bed. Rooms are huge, neat and nice. Just to input that the water / kettle are away from bed and you need to get up and walk around to reach for water bottles / kettle. We had food in the hotel on ala-carte basis. The food was okay but very costly (may be suitable for foreign tourists but need consideration for Indian tourist also.) As hotel being very inside the village touching the lake, nearby no restaurants available. You must have vehicle to reach restaurants outside if you wanna skip the food here. Hospitality and room service is good. Staff are polite and helpful. They have many activities inside resorts like swimming pool , kids playing area , recreation room, Ayurveda massage, small lake with many fish , small walkover bridges, bicycles etc. Overall very nice property for family leisure.

It is a less than 2 hours’ drive from Kochi: the perfect distance for you to leave your busy lives behind and just unwind and relax. The resort is located by the famous Punnamada Lake. The location of our room was absolutely perfect. We could view the backwaters and feel the cool breeze from the balcony. The scenery was beautiful and it was a relief to walk around in such a quiet and peaceful environment. There was a park for the kids to play and enjoy. The swimming pool was also quit neatly maintained. After almost 8 months of staying indoors, this was the first time my parents and I were stepping outside our home. I must say all the COVID-19 protocols were thoroughly followed by the staff of the resort. All the staff members were wearing masks and were maintaining social distancing even during the service. Sanitisers were kept at multiple points for everyone to us. The food was excellent and it was comfortably delivered to our rooms without any hassle. All in all, the staff was very responsive and friendly. Would totally recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend by the backwaters.

We stayed at Lake Canopy Hotel for a weekend. Checkin was a breeze, the hotel was designed very well and you could tell a lot of thought went into the planning. Rooms were furnished in a minimalist style with firm mattresses (rather than usual saggy ones seen at many hotels). Bathroom was very spacious and included a nice rain shower feature. There were multiple lighting options in the room. Nice touches like a mini bookcase with the three holy books (Bible, Koran, and Bhagawad Geetha). The landscaping was excellent and grounds were very well-maintained. We had fun using the paddle boats during our stay. Restaurant served consistently delicious local Kerala food. Customer service was excellent throughout the hotel. Only negatives: hotel could upgrade the TVs (small screens) and have better Internet service. All in all, it was a wonderful vacation and we will definitely return next year.

After the wonderful house boat cruise we were welcome very friendly by the hotel personnel who were very kind with us and recommended delicious food for us to explore in the hotel‘s restaurant.
The room was very neat and clean, with a lot of space and a balcony which offerted us a splendid view of the pond and the bright green landscape and beautiful garden with colorful flowers near the rooms.
We spent a very relaxing time and recommend Lake Canopy for any trip in order to enjoy and relax in the nature!

Our recent stay at Lake Canopy Resort in Alappuzha was a mixed bag of experiences. While the property boasts an excellent location and picturesque surroundings, we were left disappointed by several aspects of our stay.
Let's start with the positives. Situated by the serene Lake Alappuzha, the resort offers a tranquil setting perfect for relaxation. The natural beauty of the surroundings is undoubtedly the highlight of the property. Additionally, activities like fishing, paddle boating, and cycling provided enjoyable moments, particularly for my son.
However, the disappointment began with the state of maintenance throughout the resort. Despite its promising appearance, the rooms were not up to par. They lacked the expected level of cleanliness and comfort. The room fan was making noise and we had to call the technician team to fix it in the night.
The restaurant's offerings were another letdown. The buffet breakfast lacked variety, and the maintenance of the dining area left much to be desired. The same could be said for the evening hi-tea by the poolside, which failed to impress both in terms of quality and ambiance. The malfunctioning air conditioning made the summer afternoons uncomfortably warm, detracting from the overall experience.
Speaking of the pool, while it did offer a great view, it suffered from poor maintenance. The pool towels were old and smelly. The presence of insects and murky water was off-putting, making it less inviting for guests. Moreover, the prevalence of insects and mosquitoes throughout the resort, including in the washrooms, was a significant inconvenience.
Adding to the list of disappointments was the broken paddle boat, which limited our options for recreational activities within the resort. Considering the shortcomings we encountered during our stay, the overall value for money fell short of expectations.
In conclusion, while Lake Canopy Resort at Alappuzha has the potential to be a great getaway spot, it falls short in terms of maintenance and service quality. For the price paid, the experience did not meet our expectations. Unless significant improvements are made, it's difficult to justify a return visit or recommend it to others looking for a relaxing holiday experience.

The resort has a private boating lake, which unfortunately lacked adequate safety measures: After a boat ride, as I attempted to step off, the unsecured boat moved backwards, causing me to suddenly fall into the water and collide against the metal steps. I struggled frantically in the water due to the angle I fell, with one leg on the steps and the other still in the boat. The absence of a life buoy (orange safety ring) or life jacket was disappointing. I would not have struggled frantically under the water had these standard safety provisions been available. This incident was a clear breach of the resort's duty of care towards its guests, and highlighted a lack of appropriate health and safety provisions. The young staff member tasked with overseeing the boating lake was ill-equipped to handle the situation and froze in shock, leaving me to fend for myself in the water. I suffered injuries to my arm and leg from crashing against the metal steps into the water. My personal belongings, including my iPhone, destroyed due to water damage. Disappointingly the resort management did not demonstrate the level of customer care and professionalism that one would expect in such a situation. The manager Ram was callous and condescending, focused solely on monetary matters. In fact, he yelled at me and dismissed my complaint re lack of safety provision and health and safety breach, claiming one inexperienced staff member to merely *watch the boating lake was sufficient for their resort and not having a life buoy ring for guests was no issue. In spite of witnessing my distress, injuries and damaged belongings, (money, iPhone and wet clothing), Ram insisted with it being close to check out time I pay for an additional night or vacate the room immediately. No regard was given for my traumatic ordeal or injuries sustained on their premises. No recompense was given by Lake Canopy for my damaged items (including iPhone) or towards any other expenses, incurred as a result of the accident. Their lack of accountability was horrific. No regard was shown for a lone female travelling from a foreign country injured on their premises. I cannot recommend this resort to anyone, particularly to families with children, until the resort management improve their safety protocols and hire a competent and compassionate manager who prioritises customer care and safety. The only redeeming factor from my brief stay were staff members Alfie, Amal and Laxmi who showed regard for my injuries and to be frank appeared embarrassed by manager Ram's behaviour! With regards to accommodation the rooms are spacious, but minimalist and fairly basic. The lake view is distant from the rooms. Ultimately there are far better backwater resorts in Alleppey which offer better views, value, and more idyllic experiences, especially when things go wrong!

We received a very warm welcome and all staff members are keen to ensure you have a pleasant stay. The service is excellent throughout and across all the customer focused areas of the business. Pleasant and polite interaction. The hotel is set in beautiful, well maintained grounds with paths and waterways running in and around the hotel's footprint. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed and for those facing outwards to the lake, the view is spectacular. Restaurant dining was served buffet style and consisted of all vegetarian dishes by catering for the majority. Being the only foreign guests, we were offered a choice of fish or chicken to be cooked to our liking..ie curry, spicy,. I chose chicken, lightly seasoned and fried, my husband chose fish and each dish was very tasty.

Lake canopy is located on the banks of the river and the property has the lake water channeled beautifully to have all the rooms overlook the water. The place we stayed overlooked the river and had the best views ever! The staff were hospitable, they had different amenities which you could inquire at the reception before hand. The spa is good and had a decent experience there. Apart from the location we loved the food!! The managers would pay attention to all your special needs and requests and the chef turned it into a wonderful spread. Loved all the authentic Kerala dishes like Kari meen and the paysams! We also packed our lunch for our travel from them.. The staff also helped us get a local rickshaw who was kind and helped us reach nearby places.
So if you are looking to for a short holiday. Do consider Lake Canopy at Alleppey and have a nice time with nature and food.

There are a lot of choices on the restaurant menu. As for kitchens being separate, I am not too sure. But I am certain, the Chef will try his utmost to serve you.
