Fantastic hospitality. Great food and wine service. Terrific rooms. With resort amenities.
Gym, spa, pool. You name it. This place rocks! Highly recommended. And a challenging 18 hole golf course to boot. Honestly, what more could you want?

My wife and I love staying at the RACV Torquay Resort. The standard of accommodation, service, food and facilities are absolutely first class. Everything is streamlined from parking your car in the secure underground car park, which is only a very brief walk to the elevator that takes you straight to reception on level 2. There, you’ll see the friendly reception staff waiting to welcome you. Check in is brief and before you know it, you’ll be relaxing in your luxurious room deciding what to have for lunch or dinner at the resort’s exceptional dining facilities.
The rooms are luxurious and have wonderful views of the golf course and Bass Strait.
Our favourite place to unwind is in the Hardings Lounge. The majestic fireplace and incredibly comfortable soft furnishings allows you to take in the magnificent panoramic views of Bass Strait thanks to the huge ceiling to floor windows that extends almost the entire width of the restaurant and the Hardings Lounge. The wait staff are always eager to serve and you can order food and drinks from the menu and have it brought to your table.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. I accidentally knocked over red wine on to my wife’s favourite leather boots. The astute waitress (thanks Ashley) promptly suggested and brought us soda water and lots of napkins to help remove the stain. She also quickly organised cornflour to be brought from the kitchen when my wife requested to further aid in removing the stain. Thankfully the stain was removed and a marriage was saved! ☺️.
I cannot but stress how great this resort is. If you want to totally unwind take the worry out of travel then this is the place for you.

We had a week in January in a golf view room ( cheapest on ground floor - still 5 star prices - like $400 per night peak).
The good
Big room with king bed, high ceilings, seats and coffee table. Nice balcony. Excellent bathroom. Great soaps etc. Excellent service as needed. Great views from restaurant. Excellent breakfast. Great parking. Comfortable bed and sheets. Provided dressing gowns. Gym, games room etc
To work on
No golf deals for those staying... what about a week price deal?
Tv has average reception ( partly the area )... and the old style pay $15 per house movie was not worth it... what about free Netflix?
A microwave and some plates and cutlery would be great for those of us who don’t want to eat out every night.
Be nice if pool was not so chlorinated.
Be nice if a latte was included in breakfast.
Overall very good

My wife and I spent 6 nights in an Ocean Spa Suite. The suite was well designed and large with a great view over the golf course and ocean. Excellent bathroom. Great internet. Well furnished although a knife and plate would have been appreciated.
The downside of the resort is that you share it with others. The golf course, pool and gym are accessed by non-residents; there is considerable conference trade and wedding functions. Our suite was above the ballroom and on our first night we could sleep only after reception kindly got the revellers to 'tone down the bass'.
In our only attempt at an evening meal the large groups occupied staff and it was 50 minutes before we were served. After that we ate in nearby restaurants which provide comparable meals at half the price. The tariff-included breakfast is quite regimented with both times and menu: can't get a fried egg and coffee must be paid for (other than filtered). Hopefully this is an area where service will improve once the country moves through Covid-19.
To end on a more positive note, the staff are excellent, friendly and efficient, and do all they can to deal with the limitations of the venue.

Located very close to the surf shop district.
Ample parking both undercover and outside. When we arrived non of the 2 rooms we had booked where available so we waited to get an sms. An hour did go by and still nothing, we opted to drive to the local shops for lunch.
Both rooms had balconies overlooking the golf course and the coast line of Torquay.
The two rooms we had on the 5th floor where very spacious including the bathrooms. Very modern accommodation with all the amenities required.
The gym facility was well layed out with all the equipment needed.
The breaky at the in-house restaurant was below standards.. burnt toast, over cooked dry bacon, mushrooms on the side tasted dreadful. What was not included in the breakfast was the coffee, this was an extra charge on a 800 plus dollar a night hotel...come on RACV seriously extra for coffee?..
Check out time is at 10am. Be late and you get a phone call at 10.20am.. oops.

We stayed at RACV Torquay Resort midweek in July 22. It was a beautiful sunny day on arrival and we were greeted warmly and very competently at the reception desk by Rowena. She offered us a free room upgrade and gave clear instructions about accessing the underground car park, our room and answered all our questions fully. Our room was excellent; spacious and very clean with impressive views of the golf course and ocean. There was a complimentary bottle of wine for my Birthday. We were able to catch the lift to the Golf Pro shop where Ted quickly organised a buggy and for a small charge we fitted in 9 holes of golf before dinner at the Number 1 Restaurant. The menu was detailed and the cuisine delicious. The restaurant staff were very attentive, amiable and thorough. The head waiter Dusan even organised the whole restaurant and staff to sing happy birthday to me on the second day. Next to the restaurant there are comfortable spacious lounge areas with warm open fires with great views. The bed in our room was very comfortable and heating controls easy to manage. The buffet breakfast at the Number 1 Restaurant was terrific and many options for all tastes. There are tables for two along the windows at most times which really enhanced the breakfast experience. Although it was the middle of winter we had three perfect sunny days to enjoy the local activities including Bells Beach with surf riders, wineries and beautiful beach walks. We were extremely pleased with our visit to RACV Torquay Resort.

+1
We recently enjoyed three nights at the resort. Our fourth floor room was extremely spacious with the most wonderful views and with a well designed bathroom made for a lovely space to relax and unwind. At night the stars are clearly visible due to the golf course being located between the resort and the ocean. Each night with the massive door open, fresh air, the sounds of the ocean and a comfortable bed we slept well and woke relaxed. We enjoyed the spa and pool. The gym looked first rate. Breakfast each morning was served promptly and we ate in the restaurant one night where the food was delicious. All staff we encountered were friendly, professional and made us feel welcome. If you are looking for a five star country club feel this is the resort for you. Congratulations to the staff who are doing a great job.

My wife and I had a most enjoyable 2 night stay; our first nights away from home in 28 months!! Book in was easy and the hotel/resort is very well organised. We were on the 3rd floor with views across the golf course to Bass Strait. The room was a good size with a balcony complete with table and chairs. Comfy bed (so important as we age!) and very clean bathroom. The whole set up was seamlessly covid safe, masks outside your room. The restaurant staff were terrific and breakfast catered for all tastes, self serve or cooked to your liking. We had an evening meal served to our room which we ate on the balcony; right on time, hot and tasty. For what we got prices were very reasonable, but, having been hermits for so long hard we could be well out of date to accurately compare.... fish chips salad $24; beer $10. The golf course was in good condition; slope 126; $50 mid week for RACV members. Location at the very start of The Great Ocean Road is great for the coast to the West and is just over 20 km from the regional city of Geelong. We highly recommend it.

Dinner at the bistro provided an excellent meal, seated at a window table by request overlooking the beautiful golf course.
Service was so friendly, prompt and informative and the meals were delicious.
My friend requested no anchovies due to allergy with her caesar salad, and they kindly substituted chicken, and my salmon with a quinoa salad was lovely to look at and even more delicious in taste!
The bistro is large and open so it's not for "intimate dining" - there is an adjacent "games room" for children- a great idea for a family dining place. Parking is under the building with lift access to restaurants. A soothing spot to be when it is really hot.... or cold!!

Recently returned for a stay over Australia Day weekend.
Excellent stay. Have to say it was great that all the staff without fail were extremely friendly and welcoming.
Rooms are clean and large. We had a balcony room with views across the golf course to the ocean in the distance. Little niggles though in that the bathroom hooks were loose and couldn’t hang anything on them, it would take 2 minutes to tighten up with an Allen key and would be fixed !!
Food was excellent, ate dinner one evening and it was fresh and good.
Also at the time of writing it was great to see the hotel has a good COVID Safe plan in action. Staff were enforcing QR code check in to everything all the time. Breakfast is now waitered which was also good.
Staff are also continually going through the hotel and wiping surfaces and touch points.
All in all a really good few days spent here.
