This caravan park is wonderful, you are provided with everything you need. Rooms are set up nicely, fresh sheets, blankets, and pillows, it is somewhat spacious and would like to commend the cleaning staff in the cleanliness of the accommodation and bathroom with no shortcuts taken. I absolutely loved the cozy vibe of the accommodation whilst also being very close to the beach. Staff at the reception were quite friendly in helping us check in and also informing us on what we could do in the area. I did however take issue with some other noisy guests in the accommodation behind ours, blasting music throughout the night whilst also singing if it wasn't loud enough already.

I do anticipate a return some time in the near future with very high expectations.

We arrived on a very busy weekend, ( concert on the common), when we checked in we were hurried out of Reception and told vert abruptly to find our name in the box outside the door and find the camping site. The receptionist admitted that this was the furs time that they had used this system. She came out with us, we easily found our envelope and were basically told to leave, The park is very big and this was our first time there so we had no idea where we were going. We were given a map with a marked route to our campsite. It meant absolutely nothing. The roads and tracks are not clearly marked in some places. We have a 20 ft van so it meant manoeuvres were not going to be easy. And they certainly weren’t. When we finally found our site we noticed we had a tree that had obviously been cut to fit the vans on to the site. The block was extremely steep and very uneven. Although the position of it was handy to the toilets and you could hear the waves all day and night, ( nice), it was tricky to get the van into place. It was quite peaceful there and we did hear security going around on the Saturday night. The next day we had campers LITERALLY at our front door on the block behind us. Even though that area was free all weekend they decided to let these people park where they did with no-one else around them.
The toilet block started out being ok, but by the end of the weekend it was disgusting, the showers were full of sand, no mop or bucket so that we could mop them down, the toilets were filthy and there was toilet paper and god only knows what else strewn over all of the cubicles. My husband thought certain that the men’s had been cleaned but there was no obvious way that the women’s had been. We got that it was very close to the beach bad that everyone had used the showers after being on the sand but clearly they did not appear to have been given any attention. During these days of covid and rigorous cleaning and hygiene needed we felt that those considerations had gone out of the window.
We would probably stay again, it did have some good points, ie closeness to shops pub cafes etc. but in our opinion the Reception staff need lessons in customer service and the toilet blocks need much more attention when it comes to cleaning. It was a very busy weekend for them ( we were abruptly reminded that they had over 100 check ins that day we arrived- and are we supposed to care? Really) but for first time visitors it certainly does not make a good first impression.

When my friend and I booked in we asked about the WIFI and was told there was a charge to use WIFI but there was a trial period of time. The amount of time was 15 minutes. We both found the older lady in the office quite rude. The park is in a great location close to the beach. The cabin was clean.

$65 for one person for one night could suggest a quality experience. No so here. I have just completed a 6,800k road trip staying in van parks. This was the most expenvive with the van site half the size of the average park site. Also, toilets are so small one has to lean back over the bowl to be able to close and open the cubicle door.

This caravan park has zero compassion.
We are on a camping road trip with our two young children. We had a powered site booked for one night camping in our swags. Trip has been planned for months.

Unfortunately for us it has been really bad weather with severe weather warnings across Victoria. Flash flooding and huge winds forecast.
We called the park several hours before our arrival concerned about the weather, I explained our situation to the reception girl and asked if we could change to a cabin for the night instead of camping in swags in the middle of severe weather warnings. I was more than happy to pay the difference between one nights camp site and a cabin. All the other parks we have been to over the past couple of days have allowed us to change our booking.

Their response a flat out NO, it’s a minimum 2 night stay and we would have to pay for both nights to change our booking.

We can only stay one night and I might add it’s a Monday night outside of school holidays and they have rooms available on their website. Not a busy time at all.

The lady didn’t care about our situation so I’ve ended up losing my money and having to pay for a motel in Geelong so my family can stay safe, dry and not get blown away.

Upon booking we were asked what type of equipment we had which I stated a tent. When we arrived the site we were assigned seemed as though it had recently had a permanent caravan & annex removed as the grass was not very nice to walk on, dead, prickly & with kids this is less than ideal)
There was also no shade as opposed to the other camping sites I saw people camping on that had lovely big trees for shelter.

The showers & toilets were also quite a distance for us because again it seemed we were the only camping site that wasn’t for a caravan in that whole section.
The showers were timed but had no instructions on how to operate & would take at least 1 minute to turn back on which was frustrating half way through your shower.

I’m extremely disappointed because of this we left 1 day early as we had 0 shade.

There is no family facilities for showering / baby change etc this meant we had to wash our daughter in a bucket because it would be inappropriate for a female to enter the male toilets to help my husband wash our child and visa versa with the women’s shower block.

The streets are not clearly signed for street names as per the map so it was quite confusing to find our way around initially, also could not give friends staying in the same caravan park clear direction to our site.

I’d hoped for a better experience but unfortunately will not be returning to this park as the facilities for a family were simply lacking.

A pool would also be great for kids / families even though the beach is a short distance most other water side caravan parks have pools & it is much better.

I recently visited the Torquay Caravan Park with friends for a cycling trip and stayed in one of the glamping pods. Fantastic location, nestled in a private area behind the dunes, and super comfy. The management were kind enough to securely store our hire bikes overnight after we'd checked out, which helped out enormously. Thank you for a wonderful stay! 😃

We had a powered site on the dunes. Whilst it looked like most sites were numbered we spent forever trying to find a number on ours and in the end just had to park where we thought it was. The site was small and half under a tree so we didn’t have a lot of room as the car is half our set up. Also couldn’t find where we were meant to plug in as the power box closest looked like it was for the next two sites. The amenities were neat and well maintained , I had a decent shower however my partner said his was terrible. Shower is also on a timer , which I understand for peak times but not when they were this quite. I think the price ($67 a night for a campsite) was very steep for what you got.

We stayed in one of the Glamping Tents as an alternative to a cabin and were pleasantly surprised. Positioned in a tucked away position but directly on the beach and close by to the toilet block and camp kitchen, this was luxury but with the feel of outdoor camping. The large queen bed was comfortable and warm and the large couch was great for sharing a cuppa with friends. The outdoor setting added a nice touch. The fridge was handy and the electric coonara heater kept us warm and added a romantic feel as did the table lamp and the exterior fairy lights. The decor was modern and well chosen. As a suggestion, including a kettle. toaster and clothes airer with the room would have completed it as pure perfection.

We stayed in a cabin close to the beach , great location. The cabin smelt bad and was tidy but not real clean. The cabins contained everything we needed , they could just do with the couches and carpet being cleaned, and a full clean throughout. Dirty windows, dusty fans and architraves. We may stay again for the location but will bring our own van next time
