Searching for a surfing escape in Victoria? Head to Ingenia Holidays Torquay to soak up the beachside atmosphere at one of Victoria’s best-known surfing locations. Located less than one kilometre from the Torquay Foreshore, Torquay Beach and The Esplanade, this is one destination best explored on foot, with local shops, cafes and restaurants on the holiday park’s doorstep. While the coastline might be the main attraction with over 20 beaches and coves to explore in the Torquay region, the holiday park gives you plenty of excuses not to leave with a solar-heated swimming pool, heated spa and landscaped gardens. With mini-golf, tennis courts, cricket nets, modern playground and games room – there are plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained when they’re not splashing about. Choose from a studio to a three-bedroom unit or book a powered site to camp or set up the caravan – including a selection of sites with synthetic turf.

Ingenia Holidays Torquay strikes a chord with many for its excellent location, just a stone's throw from local cafes, shops, and the beach, enhancing the visitor experience. The hotel boasts a selection of clean, comfortable rooms, although some guests have called out issues with room size and amenities.
While the family-friendly amenities and the relaxing atmosphere, complete with live music, earn rave reviews, opinions on value for money and service vary. Travelers commend the overall cleanliness and the efficiency of the friendly staff but note there's room for improvement in booking processes.

Detailed Reviews
Stayed for 6 nights.. Check in was easy and friendly.. Needed a code to get in and out of the park which was given on paper and sent in a text.. The pitch was ok, under a tree.. Only problem was that there was no drainage system so had nowhere to put the waste water.. We had the people next to us that were in a huge family caravan’s waste water pipe running into our site so it made it extra muddy which was really annoying and the family on the other side of us were smoking and dropping their cigarette butts onto the floor which was unpleasant.. Their car was also weirdly parked so difficult to manoeuvre our camper in and out (I think they were told by staff a few times to stop doing things but I don’t think they listened).. The holiday park is in a great location, close to Coles, Woolworths and a great base to do some sightseeing etc.. The camp kitchen was also big and clean with an added bonus of a coffee machine when it was too wet to stand outside and make your own coffee.. The ablution blocks were cleaned everyday!

Excellent facilities. Kids loved the pool and jumping pillow. The extra sink areas for washing up were useful (as we stayed in an unpowered tent site). Tent sites were a tad snug and close to neighbours but we liked the location of our site within the park. Staff super friendly.

Clean amenities and easy drive through sites. The park is an easy walk to town and lots of surf outlets just around the corner. Very quiet and lots of shady trees. Best part was the grass matting to keep the mud and dirt off.

We had booked last year without any issues which is why we re-booked this year however our stay this time was much different and quite a disappointment since the change to Ingenia.
Our main disappointment was the manager of the park Lee Koviak. Her general approach to guests was just unacceptable. She is rude and speaks to guests like we are children. I don’t need to be on holidays and be told off like I am at boot camp! Her general rules are ridiculous and being on holidays people just want to relax and enjoy their time not be worried about being reprimanded by the manager for enjoying themselves. Our kids were afraid of her.
Also I note that we were not advised prior to booking that the pool closed at 6pm which I think is just outrageous considering its one of the main things at the park and to close so early when people are on holidays is a joke. When we were there last year the pool closed at 8 or 9pm which is perfect.
Also we found that the basketball area would close early and open late and that was also the case with the jumping pillow. Our kids would have to go to reception to ask them to open up the jumping pillow in the morning.
Also our booking was for 6 days and when we asked for 1 towel replacement we were told this was not included. I think this was outrageous considering what we paid for 6 nights not even being allowed to have 1 towel replenishment.
We had 4 cabins altogether and paying what we paid for this kind of accommodation the services, management and overall facilities were lacking and we will not be staying at Torquay again next year.
I believe we should have been discounted on price for the lack of facility use.
My main concern is someone like Lee Koviak should NOT be running a park like this. Families come together in these sorts of places so the kids can be free and parents can enjoy and relax but this was the opposite. It felt more like a boot camp.

I've never left a review on accommodation but feel so disappointed that I'm lead to leave this one. We checked into our cabin in the afternoon (which was small for the 6 of us but we survived) and then that evening we got sent a text saying the pool was shut for "urgent" maintenance (it was actually being re-fenced which they would have known about when we checked in earlier that day). The pool stayed closed for the rest of our stay. Our 4 kids were so disappointed and it felt underhanded. I wouldn't recommend this place to friends. The games room is made up of a table tennis table and an air hockey table- also out of order while we were there. The cleaning staff looked busy cleaning the suites but I can't say the cabin smelt clean when we entered and I'm sure the doonas hadn't been washed between other stays.
Good thing there are so many other wonderful things to do at Torquay because spending time in this park isn't on the the list.

I visited Torquay Ingenia park with 5 other mums for 3 nights.
The booking process was excellent. The booking staff spent quite a while on the phone with me and answering my emails so I thought we were going to have an excellent stay.
Unfortunately they totally missed the mark with making sure they gave us what we asked for.
We stayed in 2 x 2 bed cabins which comprised of a room with a queen bed and the other room 2 adjoined bunks. The beds took up most of the room in each bedroom.
Keep in mind, I am in my mid 40s and so are my friends.
The queen was nice and comfy with nice linen supplied but the bunk beds were barely big enough for a child over 10 and have a foam mattress. Barely appropriate for an adult. There were also no blinds on any windows in this room so by 6:30am it was broad daylight in there. Also only light curtains on all other windows so not much light was blocked out. Definitely bring your sleep mask if you want to sleep past 6am. You will also need to bring earplugs as the walls in there are completely unable to block a single sound.
The kitchen was a kitchenette but had an oven, kettle, fridge etc and only enough seating for 3 on a 3 seater couch as well as a table with 6 chairs. Mind you if there were 6 in the cabin it would have been unbelievably squishy. You would also have to sit at the dining table or in bed to relax!
The bathroom was adequate, no frills here but did the job.
We shared 2 of these between 6 but my request was to have space so we could be together as a group. Not possible in our tiny cabins.
Out of 3 nights they managed to have a warm spa for one of them so don’t count on this working either.
In general our cabins were old, marked and tiny and not suitable for our needs. It seems it doesn’t matter what we asked for , they supplied something different.
I let the staff at reception know that the cabins weren’t adequate and we were willing to pay for an upgrade but were told there were no availabilities in the bigger cabins (even though most of them appeared to be unoccupied by the second night.) We wont be going back but if you are after a no frills park with basic rundown facilities, these are your guys.

I wish to lodge a complaint.
On arrival the reception lady was lovely, however the manager had a prejudice opinion she was rude and judgmental, saying that they do not except motorbikes into the park and questioned us if we were going to start them up and make a noise disturbing others.
My response. We only start them up when we leave the facility. I further explained , we have, over the years brought in as many as 20 trikes to this facility at one time, generally staying for a 2 night stay in November, which has never been an issue before. This time we only have 4 people, 4 trikes and 2 trailers. After upsetting us all, She very reluctantly let us in. Stating abruptly, we could only have one park one gate code.
The lovely reception lady was trying to accomodate us for extra parking thinking we could use the other side of our cabin as that other cabin was empty, unfortunately we could not use that as the space as it was only 3 foot Walkway. But we managed creatively as we do, to keep out of everyones way so that no one was inconvenienced thus keeping every one happy.
I might add, ( collectively our trikes and trailers are worth $200,000.00)
We are aged between 50-65 years old so defiantly not young hoons.
All the neighbouring cabins hosted also seniors who were delighted to see and admire out trikes every time we came in and left the facility quietly.
I understand that new management has taken over, but please do your self a favour and speak to your manager in this regard as you have now lost us a regular customers, we are not happy.
I expect a response thank you

The park was quite well run, clean, tidy and COVID aware. The public facilities were good. Our two bedroom cabin was large as that is what we paid for.
I was puzzled as to why there wasn't a made up bed in the second bedroom for myself and after checking at the office, there was a bedding pack and I had to make up my own bed. I suppose I understand that now given the bunk bed I slept in could sleep five people but I would have liked to have known in advance.
The cabin equipment was ok aside from there not being a chopping board, nor a large slicing knife or a pair of scissors. For a four day stay, maybe more than one tea towel is needed.
The bathroom was spacious with a great high pressure shower but there wasn't any space at the basin to put anything and there was an overhead cupboard near the toilet that we both banged our heads on.
Our departure day was very windy and it became obvious that the park roads were loose filled and not hard paved and some dust from from the road blew around.
I qualify my review with that we paid a very reasonable price, with the fourth day free. We did not pay a price for luxury accommodation, but nevertheless, the cabin we stayed in really did need some basic attention.

Thanks Andrew for taking the time to post your review. We are pleased you found our Park to be well managed, clean, tidy and Covid aware. As with the majority of Caravan Parks, the main bed is made up and bedding packs are supplied for other guests. This information can be found on our website under the accommodation section. It is unfortunate, but sometimes items do go missing from the Cabins but if you contact our staff at reception, they are only to happy to assist with any issues you may have. Thanks for your feedback regarding the Cabin. We will discuss this with management.

I was hoping for so much more when I booked online. I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the cabin, there was dirt y marks in the bathroom, hair in the sink and some questionable stains on the sheets in the bunks. The smell when opening the cabin was quite powerful and had to light a candle to remove it.
I found one staff member lovely to deal with (younger lady with blonde hair who checked me in/out).
The housekeeper entered my cabin, without me being in there (taking out trash! - I was gone for 8 minutes) and petrified my son. Came into my bedroom and removed an item that she "thought" belonged to previous people. When I had to call to find out what on earth happened and what was taken, I was judged about what my sons age was and where I was as opposed to apologising for the intrusion of privacy. A simple phone call to coordinate that situation would have been ideal. That was very disappointing and could have been handled so differently.
The overall vibe of the staff was quite aggressive in nature and not friendly. Even with being told that the pool is shutting at 6pm (which is beyond ridiculous in summer) was aggressive. The 10pm quiet time is a little tame, considering people are on holidays and enjoying themselves, a push to 11pm would have been better.
The electrical equipment was not current in it's testing and tagging, therefore felt unsafe to use it. The supplies in the cupboards were basically non existent and very sparse. Overall I was incredibly disappointed in the facility vs the price I paid to book for 5 nights.
Would not recommend to others nor return.

We have been at the Torquay holiday park, over the Christmas/NY period, for the past 3 years and loved it. A great family feel, lovely staff and guests.
After another year of COVID we were really looking forward to our 10 day stay at the park. Though, we have been quite disappointed with our recent stay and with the new Ingenia front office staff during our stay.
To our disappointment the new staff have been rather rude, the kids club activies quite restrictive and the NYE entertainment lack lustre,
(a band required to finish at 10pm on NYE, a far cry from the previous year's DJ which got the park up and dancing for the count down, even the staff joining in). The previous owners/ staff took the time to get to know guests and ensure everyone had a great time.
It appears the new owners have not engaged with the previous owners or annual site guests to understand what has been the winning formula that has made this park great for families. While new ideas are welcome they have clearly missed the mark this year and as for the price increases for next year, I am not sure they reflect the state of some of the cabins. While a caravan park is a business, the new owners need to consider that families that come to the park year on year are making memories, good memories is part of the winning formula!
Sadly we will be going to another caravan park for Christmas/NY next year. I hope the new owners consider the feedback and we can see some changes in the coming years!
