I am shocked at the bad reviews. I think people who leave scathing reviews maybe do not know themselves as people to know who they are as travelers. These people pursue travelling with the expectation that everything should be perfectly to THEIR liking. It was the expectation that made the place horrible. This place is not at all horrible. It...

Do not stay here even if it's your last option! Myself and boyfriend stayed here thinking it was a homely, welcoming place however we discovered the complete opposite on the first night. We were in a bedroom that's window was next to the outside bins so the windows weren't allowed to be opened because of the flys and the smell...

Do not visit this place under any circumstances. Do not waste your money. Horrible is an understatement. There are long termers staying there that bum around all day. Even the private rooms are awful. I live quite close to there now and it looks like a complete dump on the outside. Never again.

It is a lovely community of great people who fast become good friends. The management so friendly and always there to help you. They have lots of group nights and activities so you...

This hostel is the best one I have stayed in since travelling in Australia. The people are great that I have met and have made some really good friends that I will definitely be staying in contact with when I leave. Most people who stay haven't left as it is very sociable and in a really good location, only a...

Not for the faint of heart - not exactly clean but what great long term hostel is? Great social scene. Tiny kitchen though, is impossible to cook at 5-6pm so change your eating schedule. Awesome location 10 mins from Chapel St. Super party party, mostly just on weekends though. Very fun sometimes sloppy. You'll meet some really neat people. Good...

Just walked out after one night in this dive. The place is disgusting. Filthy dirty, full of long term slobs who seem to revel in living in squalor away from Mummy and Daddy! I wouldn't prepare dog food in the kitchen. The toilets and showers were appalling. The one night we stayed, we were kept up until gone 3am with...

Stayed here for a week for the 2nd time while getting myself set up in Melbourne again. The owner Pat is lovely and the receptionist Gemma bends over backwards to help you! Very small and cosy so get to know everyone easily, not like walking into a massive communal area in a hostel and no one speaks to you. Made...
