My husband and I had one night to spend on Phillip Island and felt very fortunate to have found Glen Isla House. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Ian & Madeline were very gracious hosts and took great time in welcoming us and orienting us to the island and providing great detail about everything to do on the island. Ian also...

Thanks Jean for your special review, and your compliment on our "Southern Hospitality"... Indeed we have had the pleasure of experiencing some authentic Southern Hospitality when we were living in the USA, so your compliment means a lot to us. Many of our guests comment on breakfast at Glen Isla. Its a highlight of a stay, and our chef's know...

We were travelling from Sydney to Melbourne on the Great Coastal Trail and stopped one night at Glen Isla House which was set in beautiful grounds and gardens. The rooms were very comfortable, very clean and very tastefully furnished, the bed was very comfortable and we had a great nights sleep, before being treated to a very tasty home cooked...

Thanks for taking the time to write a review Juris. It was indeed pleasure to meet you and your family on your journey from Sydney to Melbourne. We certainly appreciate your comments on our rooms, and 'tasteful' was actually one of the adjectives in our brief to the interior designer who was responsible for our interior design and furnishings here...

My husband and I spent one night at Glen Isla House and really wished that we could have stayed longer. Ian and Madeline were so welcoming and helpful. Our room was immaculate and tastefully decorated with a very comfy bed. The whole place, buildings and gardens are beautifully maintained. The beach is just a few hundred yards away. Breakfast was...

Thanks Claire for your kind words. So many guests come to see the Penguins and stay one night, regretting they didn't stay longer, but as we know from our own travel experiences in Europe and the USA over the past 40 years, its so difficult to fit everything into the time and space available and harder sometimes to make these...

Glen Isla is the most relaxing, welcoming, and beautiful place we have had the pleasure of visiting. Madeline and Ian are wonderful hosts - but more than that, they are beautiful people! Nothing was too much trouble, and when we left it felt like they were friends we had know for years. Three nights was not long enough - I...

Thanks for your great review Toni... Indeed many of our guests appreciate the authentic heritage gardens (all 2 acres of them) with 100+ year old trees, quiet corners, complete privacy and of course the pristine sandy beach directly out the back gate. Our professional gardener does a great job of maintaining them. Thanks also for the comments on our rooms....

Fabulously located, easy walk to beautiful beach, shops, restaurants and short drive to the penguin parade. Idyllic surroundings. Great room decorated very stylishly with quality furniture, fridge, drinks, excellent bathroom, huge bath sheets and toiletries throughout. The attention to detail for travellers needs was outstanding. Ian and Madeline couldn't have been more helpful, great local insight and truly great hosts....

Truly a place to put on your must stay list whilst in Melbourne. We were surprised that so few people bother to get over to the island. It is not far from Melbourne maximum two hours. Lots to fill two or three days with activity. And Glen Isla is perfect. More for adults. We stayed in the heritage cottage slightly...
