Adequate - rooms good size and well set out, but needed updating. Daily cleaning adequate, but needs attention to window cleaning. Also, minimal kitchen utensils supplied, only 1 small sachet of detergent and no tea towel, so cleaning of dishes was difficult. Not worth using dishwasher for 2 cups, plates, and cutlery.

This townhouse was very basic, could do with upgrading tvs and replenishing kitchen utensils and providing a kettle. Beds were comfortable. Large rooms and air-conditioning very good. Very private with small courtyard excellent for a small pet.

The apartment was clean and spacious, but quite dated. There was no restaurant so I gad to order in and the Thai food I got wasn't very good and quite expensive. I went to check out at 7am but reception was unattended. There aw a sign today that after hours check ins should go to the Travelodge which was about a km away. So I found the Travelodge and at first they seemed reluctant to take my keys bu eventually they accepted. I wouldn't like to stay here again on my next business trip, it is too far out of the way.

I do apologise that you were not aware of our Reception hours and our relationship with the Travelodge Macquarie North Ryde, I will speak to the team at Travelodge as there should be no issue in regards to early check outs/late arrivals. As I can understand the need for a Restaurant/Bar unfortunately the nature of our hotel does not allow us to have one in the area. To combat this we do have the moving menus available as well as chargeback facilities at both the Travelodge and the nearby Lachlan’ Restaurant located in the university campus. I booked to stay here for four nights as it was pet friendly and I wanted to escape the heavy smoke around Canberra. As part of the booking with pets I needed to pay a large extra cleaning fee which I had no issues with paying as I understand the extra cleaning required due to fur etc.
I’ve no idea what they use the fee for as the apartment was filthy despite being serviced each day. I had to go to David Jones to buy sheets to cover the sofas so I’d be comfortable sitting my baby on it and didn’t want to use any of the items in the kitchen. I also bought cleaning products so I could try to clean the apartment up a bit and pretty much only stayed there to sleep as everything felt so dusty and grimy.
The bathroom reeked of cat pee and all my things were covered in fur not belonging to my dogs. The furniture was old and broken and the door locks were flimsy which made me nervous too.
On the third morning of my stay as I stared down into the black slime in the bathroom sink while brushing my teeth I decided to go back to the smoke in Canberra even though I’d paid for another night.
This could be a good place to stay if they’d clean it and replace the broken furniture.

A family of 4 adults and a 3 year old child, we checked in this morning. The front door had cobwebs and the knob had some kind of "gooey" stuff stuck to it. Enter the room and the first thing you notice is how dirty it is. The carpet hasn't been thoroughly cleaned in ages. There are stains on the carpet (some of them look very very gross) you then venture into the kitchen. Plates tell stories of the last tenet who probably had spag-Bol for dinner last night. Spoons and fork derelict. Cooktop and oven were surprisingly clean! Enter the living room and it too is a sad state of affair. Ceiling has cobwebs and some very exotic spices of spiders dangling from them. The stairs then lead to more horror aka the bedroom. My 3 year old is sharing bed with us. On top of the bed are more cobwebs and more spiders in them. I called up the from desk (or tried to as the intercom would refuse to let me complete a sentence before breaking the line) the staff, I must admit is the only saving grace. They immediately rushed in with a broom that looked over worked as it had cobwebs stuck to it from 1990s. They cleaned up the mess right above our heads in the bedroom. But that is only half the story. The bed is probably the most uncomfortable that I have ever slept on (and I have slept on hard timber!) the pillows too are tiered and probably has a universe of bacterias living in them. Bathroom has mould and shower is a $20 Bunnings that spurts water erratically. Then there is courtyard and the balcony (if you dare to open the sliding doors that lead to them.) There you see a whole new world of fauna and flora! More spiders, dead bugs, you get the idea. Nights lamps that won't turn off and TV desk lamps that won't turn on. TV that is older than my cassette player and furniture that is bought straight from a refuse tip.
Come tomorrow morning, I am going to the reception and demanding a full refund, an alternate stay and an apology. I'm sure I'm not going to get any of it. So here I come ACCC. The advertised standard of this so called "serviced apartments" that are services only once in four days, is 4 Stars. I've been to a better backpackers hostel than this place. How dare they advertise it as four star? Four star hotels do not have stain on their towels. Four star hotels do not have AC went full of lint. Four star restaurants do not have stains on couch, chair, plates and walls. Four star hotel would have a proper reception that would not start shift at 12:00pm daily. At a very very hefty price tag, this place needs to be raided by health officials and forced to shut down. If you have booked this place, turn around and run. Run as fast as you can and never come back or you will have nightmares for the rest of your life.

Old building showing its age, no facilities close by. Was raining heavily and non-stop and could not even get an umbrella from the office. Airconditioner did not work. Quilt cover mad me itchy.
Nothing positive to say. Medina should take this one out of its stable - it is a let down.

In such a shocking condition from the reception to the bathrooms
Welcome was lukewarm by a lady that needs to sharpen up her presentation
However it is the state of the grounds and especially the units that is shocking. This place should be bulldozed and a major renovation scheduled
Little private garden full of weeds, damp smell in rooms and really poor bathrooms, let alone being dirty

I recently stayed at Medina Executive for a period of 5 weeks. They were excellent value, at a great location.
The location - only minutes away from Macquarie Shopping centre, the M2, and other major roads - so it was very easy to get to.
The rooms. They are large 2 story townhouses, with a full kitchen, lounge, dining, laundry. The kitchens were well equipped, and clean. I have stayed at serviced apartments, that are twice the cost, and a quarter of the size. So was very impressed with this. The bathroom was a little small, and in 1 of the apartments I had, the hot tap on the shower did not work, but after I advised the staff, it was promptly fixed.
The bed was 2 singles pushed together to make a king, king sheets were provided, but the blankets / quilts were single sized. I found this a little uncomfortable, as the blackets would fall off the bed if I slept to 1 side, or if I slept in the middle, I had to put up with the lump from the mattresses joining.
I did have one issue with the house keeping staff, when they kept turning off the main power to the apartment, which would affect items I had charging. But after speaking to the reception staff, and putting a "Please do not turn off power" sign on the switch, it was eventually sorted out.
The car park was very large, with ample parking, which was free for guests, which I found great, as many other nearby hotels charge extra for parking, regardless of if you can even find a parking spot.
During my 5 weeks there, I did have a few small issues, but the friendly staff always dealt with them promptly, and always seemed happy to help out.
Overall - I would recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget, who wants the convenience of serviced apartments.

These rooms have a lot of things going for them but a few bad points really let it down. The newly refurbished 2 bedroom apartments have heaps of space and look quite nice, there is secure undercover parking, shopping centre near by and even a bus that runs almost from your front door right into the city. All very convenient, but was let down by the amount of noise in the plumbing in our room. The toilets squealed after flushing (or sometimes just by themselves) and if the people next to us turned their water on you it was just as bad. Happened at 11pm on the first night and woke both our young children/toddlers. Made for a very interesting night. Luckily next door was empty most of our stay but we requested a move on the last night for the same reason (the second room was squeal free). I certainly wouldn't recommend staying in the 2br apartments if you have any small children. There are 2 sets of stairs with not much of a railing to stop crawlers/new walkers falling. Overall though, we would consider staying again, just not with the kids and not in the same room

I am sorry to hear about the plumbing in the apartment and the noise from the pipes. I will have my maintenance team try to resolve this issue, as we certainly want our guests to have good nights sleep. I can understand the concerns you have regarding the staircases in the apartments, and we do actually have guards that we place underneath the balustrades to assist in the safety of the children, as well as child gates for the tops and bottoms of the stairs.
