Helen and her beautiful house are amazing. What a wonderful place to get away from it all whist feeling so welcomed. The garden is lovely and green, bed incredibly soft and supporting at the same time, and breakfast is fresh and delicious in the morning. I loved the varied art and photos throughout the house and the garden. I was... More

This is a cozy home with plenty of space and a great central location. The taps drip though which was very frustrating - annoying as a guest and costing unnecessary money and impact on the environment. The most disappointing thing was the attitude of the owner when I reported to her that I couldn't turn the tap off and it... More

Hi Cassandra, thanks for your feedback. Apologies about the plumbing issue, we have had a plumber in since your stay and he has fixed the taps issue. The house is always described as a more basic cottage with basic linen and furniture and is rated 3 Star. We would love you to come back and stay again when next in... More

We recently stayed 3 nights at Melville House for a recent baseball tournament. Helen is such a great host welcomed us on our arrival and we were upgraded at no extra cost. The room was very large, beds were comfortable and very quiet, just like home I would recommend it to anyone spending a night or a weeks stay.

Stayed four nights for a conference, so fortunate to have the Juparana Room. Blissful bed, art deco furniture, I even had James Bond and port by the bed. Helen made me a wonderful breakfast each morning and provided good conversation. My work colleagues were green with envy when told the price and how it compared to the very ordinary motels... More

I stayed two nights in the cottage right next to the main guesthouse. I was completely taken back by how gorgeous it was. The bedrooms were huge and both had a large ensuite. The beds were super comfortable and a heater was supplied to both rooms to warm up the cold nights. The main guesthouse was mesmerising. The hall way... More

My daughter and I had a lovely stay on the weekend. Helen is a warm and gracious host. The rooms have lots of added extras; the bed was comfortable and the breakfast delicious. Would highly recommend for a no fuss, easy and very reasonably priced stay.

This wonderful bed and breakfast was a treat for the soul. The room was huge and had lovely extras such as magazines, books, dressing gowns, hand-crafted soaps in the gorgeous marble bathroom, and beautiful old world charm. Helen is a fabulous hostess who provides a home cooked breakfast as well as cereal, fruits and yogurt. I highly recommend Melville House.

We have just spent 1 night staying at Melville House and were greeted by the owner Helen with the words " I have upgraded you." We then had an immense room with a huge bathroom, chocolates and port included along with free wifi. The bed was one of the best that we have ever stayed in and we enjoyed a... More

We stayed at Melville House on 18th April. Extremely quiet and comfortable room, great ambience, and enjoyed a great night's sleep. Extra touches such as interesting magazines in the room made it all the more pleasant. The cooked breakfast that Helen whipped up was delicious. We will certainly stay at Melville House again when next in Lismore and thoroughly recommend... More
