We were 2 couples aged 30s and 50s on a mini-break. A charming place to stay with panoramic views (tip: book room with a view!). Pretty garden setting in great location (short walk to top end of Katoomba St), & good value. Most staff (except one) gave good service with a smile. Enjoyed pre-dinner drinks in casual lounge area listening...

We stayed in the Valley View Suite with our own private parking and balcony. The room was very spacious, clean, comfortable and amazing views, we also had our own little kitchen which was handy. The food at the restaurant was fantastic and all the staff are lovely. I loved the beautiful heritage buildings and the spa was total bliss. Will...

I went in august with my Mum for the weekend. The hotel is close to the train station, area is quiet and nice, walking distance to the Blue Mountains walks and waterfalls in Leura. The hotel was a very good restaurant, live piano and cocktail on Saturday night. Its like a very "English - traditional" hotel: wood, carpets, stairs and...

Dear Pia R Thank you for choosing your family get-away with us. You have described us very well in terms of our handy location, facilities. services and ambience. We are indeed a rather "traditional" mountain retreat, and a very different experience to the glass and metal designs of the modern era. We are also pleased to hear you enjoyed our...

Our suite looked a little tired but the views were indeed great and the bed was certainly comfortable. It was a very short walk to Katoomba shops. Staff were all friendly and made us feel welcome. A little noisy at night from adjoining property (not the hotel).

We really liked the age, warmth, ambience and history of the building. Great old pics and information around the walls of the lobby areas. We liked our room (room 5) - nice side view towards Jamieson valley. We stayed in Spring but can imagine in Autumn the colours must look wonderful. Lovely hot water and good water pressure - important...

Dear 2c0ffees Thank you for staying with us and thank you for taking the time to post a detailed review. It is pleasing to hear you enjoyed all aspects of your stay, but disappointing to hear you encountered a less-than-enthusiastic staff member. I thank you for bringing this to our attention, and I will be discussing this at our next...

As a survey of the recent reviews suggests, it's not for everyone, but we like old fashioned charm and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Be prepared for a split level environment with no elevators and a great view from the dining room.

Eric S, General Manager at Mountain Heritage, responded to this review

Dear Rt J It is great to hear you enjoyed the charm and heritage of our 108 years old mountain retreat. Unfortunately, we do not have elevators, but the split level building offers many choices of stairways, which allow for easier negotiation between floors, if the grand staircase proves too challenging. The view from the dining room, cocktail bar and...

We stayed on a Monday night in September, when the restaurant is closed and the bar empty of staff or customers. The heritage room with en suite was truly average. Had to book into the free Wifi each time using a new password.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, once you get past the squeaky floor boards and the age of the building it's a very nice place to stay. Rooms comfortable and clean, staff very friendly. Dear Noel A Thank you for staying with us, and thank you for your very thoughtful review. The best cherry blossom tree in the Blue Mountains welcomes you when pulling up the side entrance.
