By far one of the best hostels I stayed in on my travels. The no technology rule is so, so refreshing to see. At least some one is trying to stem the technology onslaught that has devoured so many hostel's common areas. Also who doesn't love a log fire!? This place is really really ace, i'd not look any further...

Its been a while since I've stayed in a hostel, since my backpacker days are about 10 years behind me. But I had no regrets with Flying Fox Backpackers. As the hostel was relatively quiet, I was kindly upgraded to a double room! The hostel ticks all the boxes. Good sized kitchen, lounge area for relaxing and a great communal...

I don't say this easily, but it's so true, once you've been here you don't want to leave again. I've met some great people here who i really consider as friends now. I was supposed to stay for 2 nights but extended to 4, i really had to leave otherwise i would still be there. For the people that consider...

I've stayed in a few Katoomba hostels over the years (the Cecil, the YHA, No 14 on Lovel St), and while those had their good and bad points this hostel was by far the most friendly and social hostel I've visited, and rooms were the most quiet. It felt like there was a real sense of community and respect there....

I stayed here by myself about eight years ago. This was my first time staying at what seemed to be a family run hostel. I got to know the person at the desk (the owner?) within hours of my arrival. It was cold outside so he gave me a ride to the grocery store. Then he split some wood and...

At my arrival a car full off backpackers just left the place and someone said 'becarefull, this is a dangerous place'. And I agree. If you are not carefull, you will stay here for the rest of your life! The hostel feels like one big family, when the place is fully booked, it still feels like a small group instead...

I was a little sceptical walking into this hostel. It's a little further down the road that the other accommodations in Katoomba. As soon as I walked in I realized I made a great choice when picking my hostel. The hostel is great but the people there make it better. Everyone is really welcoming and there is a really strong...

The staff and the people here are very friendly and relaxed. As the Hostel is not very big the atmosphere is quite familiar. There is a nice cosy living room and every night there's a campfire outside. If you come to the Blue Mountains this is definetely the place to stay;)

I was initially drawn to the hostel because it was the only place in town that rented decent mountain bikes but I soon realized there was so much more to this place! I stayed for a couple months after initially booking in for 2 nights. I've travelled from Cairns to Melbourne and hands down this is the best Hostel on...
