I was in this hostel last year so already a while ago, It was Australian winter, very good athmosphere and very personal. I planned to stay for a few days but finally was there for three weeks, wifi is free and the owner Ross works hard to make it comfortable for his guests. If you need something he's willing to...

I came to the Fox for 2 nights in March 2014. I ended up spending a total of 10 months there. The hostel is small, cosy, friendly, welcoming with such a sense of community. Yes there are only three bathrooms, but in 10 months I probably queued for a maximum of 30 minutes in total. The bedrooms, kitchen and lounge...

My sister and I stayed there for three nights and although it got a little chilly in the night it was a great experience! Ross is a very nice guy who gave us many tips what we should do. So ask him! We went to the Wentworth Falls which was breathtaking. But also Katoomba is great for hiking! Ross also...

The Flying Fox was our first stop on our road trip and it was a great first night! Having never really staying in hostels or dorms before we had an awesome experience. The communal spaces were clean and the bedroom was so cosy. They have a huge living area and outdoor space, fireplace and comfy seats. We loved it. The...

I stayed here for a few nights whilst visiting the Blue Mountains. The hostel came highly recommended by various travel sites. The building (house) itself looks unimpressive from the street, and the dorms inside are similarly average. The kitchen needs some work too, but wait until you settle into the lounge on a cold night.... Between 6 and 9 its...

I only stayed in this hostel for 1 night, but I wished I could've stayed longer. It's cheap, clean and the owner is really friendly. He knows everything about the mountains and gives great advice about hikes. There's also a great cozy and warm (fire place) common room, where you will meet a lot of nice people. Best stay in...

My arrival was as coming into a friends house. Really laid back atmosphere and overall cozy. There was a 6pm social time that Ross (the owner) was enforcing in the living room area. So no multi media allowed. I tought it was great because as soon 6 pm hit the clock, people were all chatting away. The place was also...

My aunt and I stayed here for two nights the end of July (2015). Overall, the place was nice - quiet, pretty clean (for a hostel, at least), and convenient location. The owner (I believe he was the owner) was very nice and helpful (in suggesting activities and giving directions, etc.), though he (nor anyone who worked there) was there...

I came to stay at the Flying Fox in the middle of winter. I wasn't planning on staying long, but the friendly atmosphere of the hostel and the beautiful blue mountains sucked me in and I had to extend my stay! Definitely recommend staying in the mountains for as long as you can, definitely stay for more than one night....

Good location, nice free breakfast, clean dorms and bathroom. Owner Ross is more than willing to help you choose a hike and is very friendly. It gets cold inside despite log fire and heaters, but would in spite of that definitely recommend! Atmosphere is wonderful.
