Only negative was the noise created by others staying there. There was someone in the room that was directly above me that had there door open until nearly three am who continued to make excessive noise throughout. It wasn’t until I went out and asked them not so politely to be quiet that the noise stopped. This noise had to affect others staying there and I was surprised that the motel did not ask them to be quiet and respectful of others much earlier.
The room itself was a bit dated, the TV didn't work at first so I had to ask reception to fix it. However the shower was nice and hot and strong, really good. The bed was comfortable too, and the kettle worked fine so I could make coffee.
Didn't get to use the pool as it was too cold, it was small but would've fit a small group of people standing up.
For $120 or so a night, it's probably about right but nothing special. I might give either the Cessnock Hotel or Peden's Hotel a go next time as they're cheaper.
However bathroom door needs replacing. The bedroom floor felt very grimy under foot and on closer inspection I don’t think it has been washed properly for some time.
Curtains didn’t close properly either resulting in the outside security lighting shining through all the time. Don’t think I would stay there again.
No one was there to speak to when we checked out so I said to my partner we will leave a review because we were unhappy and i thought people should know.
So this morning I left a review and the hotel manager called me abusing me saying that i came early so they had to help me and blah blah blah that the room needed to air before we stay in it and he pretty much said he's blocking my review and I'm blocked or something..
Don't stay at this place.... go anywhere but here.
This time it was terrible. One towel in the room being accused that the staff had put some in the room.
Room was dated, curtains had holes which allowed light in.
Bed was rock hard the floor would have been softer and that also didn't look clean.
People our the front of their rooms smoking which the smell wafted into our room, not good for someone with asthma.
We left early the next day. I checked my bank account a couple days later and noticed money from the motel had come out. I rang and spoke to someone at the front desk who was incredibly rude and asked why he said " that the cleaners had gone in to clean and said the bed head was broken and same with wine glasses. This is absolute bull we didn't even touch the glasses.
It is a case of them against us with what happened but some sort of proof like photos from them would have been helpful but nothing.
I wouldn't recommend this motel to my worst enemy its old, dirty and not worth the money.
Oh they PC uht milk in the fridge and the fridge was turned off so who knows how long they had been sitting in their getting warm .
Worst motel in Cessnock.
However the room change placed us in the middle of a a large group of people who despite the smiles and head wobbling showed little respect for other guests.Children running around at 11.00pm Loud groups in adjacent rooms court yard area .
Lead to me requesting the motel manager to apply the motel rules .....to little effect Eventually to get some sleepI had to intervene personally .
When you pay for a bed it would be nice to be able to use it.
I would caution travellers that want to be able travel without being tired this is not the place to stay.
I get the feeling that the business of a group was more important than the overall experience for the rest of the guests
