We visited Daydream & Hamilton Island before Airlie Beach on our honeymoon and Portside was by far our favourite place we stayed! Colleen and John were so helpful and informative, the rooms were incredibly clean and tidy and it had awesome air conditioning, which was perfect in 95% humidity. The location is amazing- close to Port of Airlie, close to the Main Street and all of the best restaurants. We had Room 16, which had our own little staircase opening out onto the street, which was perfect! No big hills to climb!! We had the one bedroom apartment with a spa, which we enjoyed in the afternoons as the day cooled down. Earlier in the day, during the heat we cooled down in the pool, which has the most beautiful view. Our only regret is not staying longer!
Great stay after we got changed from lower room # 16 located at front of hotel close to the road it didn't feel private at all and staying with our 15month old the room had internal stairs not safe for our walking toddler we soon got changed to a higher level room #12 which was amazing the stairs to rooftop where just out our front door all very private. The views where amazing! Beds very very comfortable and apartment was lovely. Air con works great also. Only down fall where there where a few stairs up to 3rd floor no lift which could be tiring but great if you like a work. The noise from main street was a little loud in our room and no blockout curtains made it hard if you like a day sleep. I didn't get pics of room but is lovely with 2 bedroom private roof top Jacuzzi with bbq, all utensils and cooking needs avalible.…
Faboulos hosts who made you feel at home on arrival. Booking made directly with hosts made for better transfer from airport and arrival at apartments. Apartments are well located centrally in town with a 5 minute walk to all shops, restaurants and bars. One bedroom apartment is spacious and well furnished with a superb ocean views and outlook from balcony to marina and township. We are coming back.
Good location, easy walk to all attractions. Our apartment was modern and well equipped with upper quality furniture and fittings. It needs to be mentioned the complex is built on the side of a hill and the apartments start at the equivalent on the 3rd floor. From street level to where the elevator is located is via either the car-park ramp, or approx 53 steps. No easy feat for the elderly/infirm, of if you are carrying groceries etc.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit for 5 nights. Some views of the Airlie marina and a great location to Airlie beach and all the shops and restaurants. For the price paid we were disappointed as unfortunately the appliances in the room need some serious TLC. We booked a room with a kitchen as wanted to cook a couple of simple meals after long day reef trips. First was the kids bedroom aircon, we reported it the first day and was inspected and fixed after the 2nd night. But on day 3 the more issues started, main air con leaked water randomly. On the oven we asked which was fan force setting as all the icons were rubbed off but even after being advised every mode turned the full grill on at max heat burning everything we put in there. The dishwasher came on with a warning light and stopped working. The range hood barely did anything, so cooking breakfast meant setting off the smoke alarms which seems to be a common problem as it’s hanging from the ceiling from people bashing it to turn off I suspect. We gave up as quite frankly didn’t want to spend our holiday worrying about someone else’s maintenance issues with people coming in and out during our stay. Maybe just bad luck for us but I have never stayed somewhere with so many issues. Saying that fridge, washer and dryer worked fine apart from dryer also setting off smoke alarm :-(…
