We stayed at the Hibiscus Lodge in 1985 in room 8. Room had changed from an apartment to a double room with on suite ,view from the balcony had changed but the thrill was still there. Half priced dinners with a drink each night was a good incentive, it's not the Hilton but location, location, location. Centre of town with...

If you want a good night's rest, don't stay here. If the music doesn't keep you awake, the banging from the bar kitchen will. The bar kitchen sits under the parking so it's even louder and sounds as if they're throwing heavy pots out into the parking. Woke me up several times Other than the noise, my stay was ok....

Hi Shannon, Thank you for taking the time to review our hostel. Beaches is first and foremost a party hostel, for this reason we have live music and activities and games in our bar every night to keep our guests entertained. However, we do keep in mind that many of our guests are here to venture out in to the...

Was a bit confused as Hostelworld has this as global backpackers but it's called beaches as well, however wasn't a major issue as most hostels are all on one central street in Airlie Beach. The room was really average and contained the basics- it wasn't as dirty as some of the other comments make out, however, the shower was really...

Hello Josh, Thank you for taking the time to review our hostel. Beaches backpackers is part of the Global backpackers chain which is why we are recognised under either name, Our hostel thankfully has signage for both to avoid anyone missing us! All rooms are thoroughly cleaned by our housekeeping staff every day and room checks completed by reception staff...

Stayed here for two nights either side of my Whitsundays tour. Hostel is in a fantastic location, 10-15minute walk from the greyhound bus stop, right in the centre of Airlie beach and opposite the lagoon. Staff are so friendly and helpful! Also have night and day storage for bags but night storage is $6 for the duration it's in there....

Thank you for your review iinesaa, You are right, Beaches is a party hostel! We have a lively bar with live music and nightly entertainment for our guests. We are, however, very aware that most of our guests are here to enjoy the beautiful Whitsundays and ensure that the bar closes at 12pm every night to ensure that everyone gets...

The location is good and the staff is nice, but otherwise, the place was awful. Facilities are bad, not cleaned, mold in the bathrooms... Also the rooms are located close to the hostel bar, making it very noisy until late. The people that stayed there didn't show any respect for one another, making it difficult to get a whole nights...

Thank you for your review Alexandra. Beaches is first and foremost a party hostel, we have a busy bar that is one of the main draws of our hostel. Having said this, we are very mindful that our guests are here to take advantage of the many activities that the beautiful Whitsundays have to offer, so we ensure that the...

As far as a budget hostel goes, you get what you get. The location is really good, close to everything in the town. The rooms were ok, not too dirty although the bathroom could use some cleaning. Common areas were fine. No wifi which really sucked, even at the restaurant it was spotty at best. But we were glad for...

Hey Stephanie, Thank you for your review, we love our central location and that we can offer accommodation at a great price! Our bar is one of the busiest in town, however we close at midnight so guests can be well rested for their travels. The hostel is a little dated, so you might have confused this with the bathrooms...

The pros of the hostel include its location (as it is close to pretty much everything), the cheap rooms, having discounted meals to the Bar and Grill every night (which were very filling), the Bar and Grill having decent live acts and good waitstaff, nice receptionists and free car parking. Another pro is that troublemakers are quickly dealt with/kicked out...

All rooms are en suite which we found to be very annoying. The shower is tiny. All of our actual douve covers you get to sleep absolutely stunk. We asked the cleaner if they were changed and she said once a week which is gross!! She even agreed that this is disgusting but didn't have a say in it.
