I feel like reviews are better read with dot points and sections, so that's how I will do it. BOOKING - I was having trouble with my internet, so had to call to make the booking, the woman on the phone matched price advertised elsewhere and made my booking right there over the phone, it was very very easy! Her phone manner and customer service was fantastic! ARRIVAL - we were running late, so called up and let them know, they left our room key in the late arrival safe with a little information pack, it was very helpful. CABIN - we stayed in cabin 2, let me start by saying that this cabin was AMAZING! It was incredibly clean, the sheets were crisp, the floors were spotless, the air-con was cold, it wasn't uncomfortably close to the next door cabin, there was more then enough room for 2 adults and 2 children, there was a tv in the lounge room and a tv in the main bedroom, the second bedroom had 2 bunk beds (which was great because both of my kids wanted the top bunk!!), the bathroom was sparkling, everything was absolutely fantastic. WATER SLIDE/POOL - the pool was under renovations, so it was out of order, which i thought would effect the trip and the fun but boy was i wrong!!!! The water slides were MORE THEN ENOUGH! I am not exaggerating when I say that my partner and our kids spend at least 5 hours every day we were there on the slides! The slides were the highlight of our trip, my partner and I probably had more fun then the kids did haha PLAYGROUND / JUMPING PILLOW - really great, we were definitely preoccupied with the water slides, but had a good go at the playground and the jumping pillow, can't fault them! FACILITIES - we ate out, so didn't utilise the outdoor kitchen and bbq's, but we did go out and have a look at them and they looked impeccably kept, very clean! We will be using them on our next visit, for sure! The toilet near the water slide (i'm not sure if there were others, we didn't look much further for any) was really clean and had plenty of soap and toilet paper, i also found a little bucket of cleaning products for us to use before and after we used the toilet, which was a really great idea, given COVID at the moment and the risk it poses to people. As a whole, our stay was absolutely incredible and our family cannot wait to come back and stay longer! If i could give more stars I would :) oh and they have bird feeding at 8am every morning, my kids both got to pat the birds, they put out bird seed and the birds go love it! my kids thought it was incredible.

This park is such a huge disappointment. The facilities are so run down it is laughable. Our daughter is leaving with a large cut on her foot due to all the unstable tiles around the pool which one would think is a major safety concern and should be attended to immediately. 1 witches hate around a tile is a joke. No sign to even make pool users aware of the danger. The pool lounges are not even usable as there is no padding on them and 1 bench seat for parents to sit on to supervise. The kids recreational room is basically out of order with majority of machines out of order. They dryers do not work. They have basically only heated clothes. Rooms are not supplied with a drying rack which is a pain having a family of 4. Having stayed at Big4s the standards here are a joke. After reading other reviews I hope management listens and takes peoples reviews seriously. After the 1st day I wish we would have only booked the 1 night. Don’t waste your money.

Where do I start? Waterpark and pool area has broken tiles and ripped up safety padding and has been neglected over the years. The photos on the website are a monument to what this park once was. None of the dryers in the laundry work even after running clothes for 2 cycles ($4 per cycle) so that was $8 get warm wet clothes back. Womens toilets hadn't been cleaned in 4 days which was evident from the cleaning schedule on the door not being done. Toilet and shower doors not being lockable. During our stay we lost power a total of 8 times and when reporting the outage was told that the safety switch keeps getting flicked and they don't know what it is. The camp kitchens are also not maintained to any degree although we were lucky and had a lot of courteous campers in the park during our stay who all cleaned it well after use. Whoever is running this park needs to go and visit some of the other parks in the area and take note of how things should be. Management just seems to be happy to take your money and give you a slack apology which doesn't really justify the huge price that they will sting you. Oh and the recreations room for the kids is 90% out of order. The sand flies here are out of control but there's nothing the park can do about that. OVERALL the park is in really poor shape with a long long list of things that need to be addressed from the amenities through to management. You would think with the Covid closures that this place would have made sure everything was up to scratch especially being a large chain!

Would never come here again. Toilets and showers that don't lock. Days without bathrooms signed off as being cleaned and when it was cleaner was only in there for 15 minutes to clean a whole ladies block. 3 days without water. 3 power outages in 2 days. Powered sites not visually marked out so people know where to park their vans then after asking for help just being told ohhh they must have worn off. Unhelpful staff driving past a man bogged and didn't even offer assistance. Just utter lack in care for their patrons.

Hi alannahw2021, thank you for staying with us at Discovery Parks - Airlie Beach. We're really sorry to read of the troubles during your stay, but please know they're being looked at as soon as we're able. Unfortunately due to Christmas holidays we've had to wait a little longer for a locksmith to be available to fix the doors as you've mentioned. Please know the ablution blocks were very much being cleaned, and the 15 minute cleans were only for touch points as required by COVID-19 restrictions - otherwise we are doing regular cleans three times a day. Unfortunately they weren't signed off as our new cleaner had forgotten to even though the work had been completed. We have spoken with this person and provided further assistance as needed. We weren't made aware of anyone not having water. If there are any issue with this in future, please tell a staff member as soon as possible, we of course would not want anyone to be without it! We appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback. Kind Regards, the Discovery Parks team.

We have just checked out today and while our stay was enjoyable and the cabin was large and clean there were a couple of issues that we raised with the staff. Firstly we had no hot water for the duration of the stay and a burst pipe under the cabin. While the pipe was fixed the hot water was never restored as the gas bottles were empty and were not replaced . Secondly at some stage during the night the tap in the bathroom would not turn off and was continuously running we had to turn to the water off during the night. I understand the park was busy and maintenance takes time but for what you pay per night for a cabin we shouldn’t have had to use the amenities block. We mentioned this while checking out and didn’t really get a response from the staff member we told.
