We stayed here as we visited Airlie Beach for the first time. Superb location and about a 5 min walk along the boardwalk to the great choices of bars and restaurants. Hotel had lovely helpful and friendly staff and the view at the pool/Rocks pool bar is breathtaking. We stayed in an ocean view room and it was worth every dollar.. We’d return in a heartbeat!

I spent 4 nights here and was so impressed. My beautiful room had a large balcony overlooking the bay, with complete privacy. The louvre screens beside the bath could open, allowing me to soak indulgently while enjoying the water views. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. The restaurant and bar overlook the beautiful resort pool, private beach and stunning water views across the bay where you can watch the sun set across the water. The food and service were excellent. This place exceeded my expectations in every way and was such good value for money. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Coral sea resort is amazing- such a good location, great views and fun place to stay. Staff were super friendly and there is such a good vibe at the hotel. Special mention to Jessie from the breakfast service, she was friendly, polite and remembered our names and where we were from and appeared to have conversations with most guests- definitely an asset for the hotel! The only limitations in my opinion was the rooms itself- our room was quite dated and still had a key for entry. Reception advised us they were in the process of renovating rooms and other guests seemed to not experience the same thing and had swipe cards so this might not be an issue moving forward. Also, the menu for lunch and dinner was quite minimal and expensive for what you got. We definitely found better value in town which was only a 5-10 minute walk away. Overall, great place to stay and we would definitely go back.

My new Husband and I came here for a few days for our Honeymoon. I had come here once prior to the Marina taking over the Venue and what a world of difference it is. From an older looking hotel, with the main aesthetic being Dark woods and an old Pirate Ship in the lobby - to something sleek and modern. We spent many days lounging by the pool and watching the sunset as well as having cocktails on the pier... I also loved laying on the black and white floating beanbag pool chair - extremely comfortable and still aesthetically pleasing!! We stayed in the Penthouse Suite; which unfortunately hasn’t had an update yet, unlike the rooms bellow - however this really wasn’t an issue for us. We had 180 degree views that were so stunning! You could see the sea from almost every room (just not the bathroom) I would say Coral Sea has the best views in Airlie Beach. Ordering room service on the days we couldn’t really be bothered going down stairs because we spent too much time snorkelling on the reef was definitely made better by the fact we were able to sit at the table and still enjoy the surroundings. Food was delicious which was a bonus! I would say give breakfast at the Hotel a miss because I have definitely had better; and it is rather pricey for what you get.... $9 for an ice coffee....... if it wasn’t for the convenience of it being right down stairs - we probably would’ve gone somewhere else. I also chose to have a massage & facial at Blush Spa & Beauty Bar; which by far has been one of the most relaxing therapies I’ve ever had. Definitely impressed!! I definitely would recommend and stay here again! Maybe once the rest of the rooms are done - or just choose a room that has already been renovated!

Stayed here in early April with a group of friends. The resort location is stunning with beautiful views and it’s close enough that you can walk into town to the restaurants and shops but far enough away that you don’t get the noise. The rooms were spacious with small kitchenettes, bathrooms with decent sized spa baths and beautiful views from the balconies. Also plenty of pillows and extra blankets and sheets. The rooms are also serviced daily which is great, but make sure they restock supplies as a couple of times we were left without toilet paper or dishwashing liquid so weren’t able to wash up. Music by the pool was a nice touch in the afternoons and the cocktail variety was great although a touch light on the alcohol content. The downfall would be the cafe/restaurant/pool club and the service provided by staff. We had breakfast included, which was great, however the staff managed to get our orders wrong every single day and we were there for a week. It was either the wrong meal or sides provided, extras charged to the incorrect room numbers, green tea provided when I asked for coffee, being asked to provide my room number 3 or 4 times during breakfast even after I’d provided it at the front desk after I signed in in the morning and receiving undercooked food. This wasn’t limited to just breakfast either, it happened at lunch and dinner with one friend ordering a chicken burger and it coming out without the chicken being cooked and another friend being charged for 4 main meals and 2 entrees for dinner when he only ordered 1 main meal and 1 entree. When raising issues with the staff, we were made to feel like we were the ones being difficult. I understand that mistakes can happen but when it happens repeatedly and not just to me but to all my friends staying with me, it gets a bit old. It was really disappointing as you expect more from a restaurant that markets itself as 4-5 star and when you’re paying $300-$400 a night to stay at the resort. I’ve stayed in hotels and resorts in Sydney for the same price and the staff practically fall over you to help and accommodate you. But don’t expect the same level of service here. Overall, if they fixed the restaurant and service it would live up to its star rating but until then, it’s not worth the price you pay. Some other feedback - - The pool club menu is pretty basic, more variety is required - You aren’t allowed to take your own food to the pool which is fine as I understand it’s part of a licensed bar and restaurant, however, i don’t want to buy a full meal every time I get hungry. It would be great if you could supply chips, pretzels, nut type snacks behind the bar for guests to purchase. - a second QR check in code should be placed at the stairs nearest to the bar as a number of people walked in without checking in

Dear KelpGee, Thanks so much for the comprehensive review, we truly appreciate feedback of all kinds as it helps us as a business to improve and grow. We certainly agree that the resort itself is in a stunning location and the views a simply beautiful. You raise some fair points regarding the restaurant that we can definitely work on, and I am very grateful for the further suggestions you gave. I have now passed your review on to our management team for their consideration. Once again, I do thank you for your feedback and hope that on a future stay we can show you the progress we have made.
