If you are looking for the perfect place to have as a base for exploring Airlie Beach or the Whitsunday Islands, the Colonial Palms is ideal. Apart from the spotless rooms I stayed in on two occasions, the restaurant is awesome , with a delicious and interesting menu. I was grateful to be able to order room service and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the staff. Jeff and James are a real credit to the business and you can tell that they genuinely enjoy their roles from the very first welcome till time to check out. Oops I mustn’t forget to mention that they provided me with complimentary transport to and fro the ferry terminal. Exceptional place to stay if you appreciate a spotless room, delicious meals and old fashioned friendly hospitality!!!! Five stars !!!!! I will happpily recommend you to all my friends. Clean room, 2 pools, offered pool towels for swimming. Lovely staff and a short walk into town. Loved the Complimentary Continental Breakfast in our room package. The lady that checked us in was super friendly and beautifully presented.

Love the location. Easy walk to town and port of Airlie. Property was very clean. All the caretakers we met went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. They organised our transfers for us, and offered to drop us into town. Rooms are basic and clean.

Rung to book Colonial palms 3 weeks prior to arriving. Booked for 2 adults and 2 children. Was quoted a price which sounded reasonable considering what the accommodation looked like online (a little old and run down). As I was booking on a budget, I gave the reception lady my card number to confirm the booking. Upon arrival, I was told I did not need to pay until we departed 2 days later. The morning of departure I went to pay, and the total cost of my stay was $200 more than quoted. Her argument was I had '2 extra people' not quite sure where they were as it was only my husband and 2 children who I had oringally booked for in the room! I didn't have a leg to stand on as I did not receive an email containing an invoice before arrival. Was extremely disappointed as we could have stayed somewhere a lot more modern, and cleaner than here for the money spent :-(…

There is an airport on Hamilton Island. Looks an interesting runway, as the plane lands very near the water.
We got the ferry out from Airlie, took over an hour, very pretty, lots of islands along the way.

Yes we are happy for you to leave your car in our under cover car park. The Whitsunday Cruise terminal is just across the road.
