My husband and I had a wonderful four day stay at Rio Manso in late December. The lodge was incredibly beautiful with amazing views from the room. The setting was extremely peaceful and quiet and I definitely would have liked to have stayed longer. What made this experience so incredible though was the staff. The host, Erika, was professional and...

Thanks very much for your kind words. We try very hard to make sure every one of our guests has a unique and personal experience in this wonderful corner of Patagonia. Nature is so beautiful and welcoming at Rio Manso, we feel we should be just as good!

We have been fishing lodges for over 20 years; this was our best experience. All of the rooms faced a glacier overlooking Hess Lago. Erica and her staff has a "whatever you need or want" attitude. An example is that she drove to Bariloche to buy me a cigar. Usually at lodges some guides rise above the others; here we...

We spent five nights at Rio Manso Lodge in the middle of December. My husband was fly fishing and I joined as a non-fishing guest. The accommodations are very comfortable in a rustic upscale lodge style. The weather was chilly and rainy much of our visit so a warm fire was maintained in the living room throughout the day. The...

The lodge is situated in the most spectacular location. The views are simply breathtaking. The rooms are simple but spacious. Hair dryers are available on request. The staff are warm and welcoming and we were greeted every day after fishing by a drink of choice. The atmosphere is really that of a sporting house party which works well. Everyone eats...

We sorry that the food was not up to this guest's expectations. Most fishing lodges do not offer full menus to their guests since there are usually only a few people visiting at any one time. We're not full service restaurants. Think of it more like being invited to a friend's house for dinner. We do ask guests for any...

My son and I just got back from a week long fly fishing trip to the Rio Manso Lodge through Orvis Travel. We arranged our own plane travel--Aerolineas Argentina, which was great. They provided a shuttle from the International Airport EZE to the Domestic Airport--a 1hr 30min bus ride. The flight overnite to Buenos Aires was 9hrs, immigration check was...

The road to the lodge is a dirt road in the wilds of Patagonia. One of the reasons the fishing is good, and the surrounding landscape is so pristine is because it is not that all that easy to get here. Although we and most of our guests like that, we do appreciate that for some guests, the journey can...

Photos and reviews could never do justice to this magical place! We've just returned from 7 nights at Rio Manso, and are already thinking of how soon we can return. Every room in this alpine-style lodge is ample, spotless, and has a huge picture window looking over Lago Hess and El Tronador, a glacier peak that will take your breath...

This was my fourth fly fishing trip to Patagonia, and the first to the Rio Manso Lodge. It was far and away the best fly fishing experience I've ever experienced in South America! Roberto and his Guides and Staff made it most memorable. Their praise and respect for each other and their Manager is to me the best indication of...

We recently spent 6 amazing days at the Rio Manso Lodge. Everything about our trip exceeded all our expectations! The lodge is absolutely beautiful, the service the staff provided was incredible. The fishing, hiking, and birding were all glorious! The staff was exceptionally helpful, courteous, and pleasant. The lodge and rooms were spacious and luxurious, especially considering how remote it is. Roberto has created and preserved this remote paradise.
