This is a relatively new resort ( 2019, I think) located about 8 km from the Blackbuck National Park. The property is small with about 18 cottage-like rooms. The rooms are basic, though they do come with a TV ( I didn't expect a television). I loved that they had a small porch just outside the room. Sitting out in the evenings there were quite fun. The place is designed like a 'savannah - there is a lot of long grass ( that is local and also seen at the national park) all over the lodge. This makes the place look quaint. There is a gazebo and a small garden with a 'khatlo' for lounging around. There are cycles lying around ( only 1 kiddie cycle though!) which you can also take out of the property for a spin along the canal, right next to the property. All of this adds to the charm of the lodge. The restaurant has limited seating capacity - so if the lodge is at full occupancy, this can be challenge. Also it is vegeterian. The food was OK - I think the chef did a good job preparing local cuisine but the 'punjabi' fare was mediocre. The breakfast offerings were limited and I think the hotel can do much better than just poha, puri and bread. But that is a minor gripe. The staff is polite and prompt - Mahipal at the reception, Samar and Jigar at the restaurant and Amit, their naturalist are amazing. Amit - accompanied us on our safaris and is an encyclopedia of information - highly recommend taking him along to enhance your safari experience. The highlight for us was watching 1000s of Harrier birds gather for roosting at sunset.…
It is an average hotel...though the location is good...park is also good...but the property lacks in many aspects... Cons: 1. The place is not very clean...also the room cleaning was not done on other days which I found very unhygienic.. 2. Service is very slow..u have to tell 3 times to get something 3. Food is mediocre...everything is over spicy...very limited options...no fruits for breakfast...very less options for this price 4. Pool is very small...sort of Kids pool 5. No wifi...very poor mobile connectivity 6. Games room is namesake...very ill maintained.. Pros: 1. Staff is very polite and does listen to your requests and complaints...they even went out of their way to show us fireflies.. 2. National Park safari is very good All in all ok stay...not worth the price..
We visited blackbuck safari lodge during September end 2021, it was raining almost throughout the day. Initially we thought that due to rains our holiday plans will be spoiled but we were wrong, the environment of this resort was so much close to the nature and it had everything for us. Eventhough we were the only family in whole resort; we never felt uncomfortable, the staff is so courteous and friendly. The place is very near to blackbuck sanctuary and provides wonderful atmosphere leading to peace and serenity.
One of the best experience we had in very long time Blackbuck Safari Lodge-Velavadar Staff and Services were extra ordinary. Food was simply awesome both taste and selection wise. Ambience along with landscaping was icing on the cake!! A retreat in it's true nature!!
Blackbuck safari lodge is located quite close to Bhavnagar & Dholera and hence is an easy option for a weekend plan if you want to avoid driving too much. Our overall stay was very relaxing. The property is pretty well managed, everything is nice and clean. The designing of the rooms is really interesting ,Also a shout out for the excellent customer service. There are a lot of activities to do and enjoy on this property including cycling in the jungle and yes they have a there own pond in the property. Lastly the food, i think the food was quite mediocre, a property like this definitely needs to serve better food!. Staff were helpful and friendly. And the resort manager Mr. Raj Singh is too helpful, Would definitely recommend all to visit this place.
