We stayed at the lodge while mountain biking in a group. Be careful of following a GPS to get the last couple of Kms - just follow the map. Ours took us down a disused road. We loved the hosts, hospitality and food, and the lodge was clean and pleasant. Definitely have a meal there. We plan to go back...

Stayed here for one night as a stop over before riding the moerangi trail. The accomodation had all the comforts of home, was clean and comfortable. Pricing was excellent. We had the cooked breakfast which was bountiful and nice and it was great Garry and darline were there to chat to. Recommeded stopover.

Stayed at the lodge for one night. Went horseback riding with Gary and enjoyed their wonderful roast boar dinner. The ride and dinner were amazing! The lodge is simple but clean and the shower is nice and hot! Would definitely return and recommend. Thanks for the great memories!!!

My husband and a few friends visited this place during our trip to New Zealand. I wanted to ride in another country and we found this place. The trail we went on was exciting, nothing like what I've been on in the states (so far). Our hosts were welcoming and friendly, and the dinner was lovely. The wild boar dinner...

Don't be afraid of the dated wallpaper or the older furnishings. Everything is clean and in good working order. Our group of five was in the countryside and in for an amazing trail ride. Garry, our guide, personally broke the majority of the horses we rode. Smart, sure-footed with great personalities. If you go, ask him how Short is doing....

I went with a group of people to do the horseback riding and stayed at the lodge for one night. The horseback riding was a great adventure, and it suits all levels of rider. Gary takes you through the rainforest and the trails can get quite narrow at times! We had experienced riders and first time riders in our group...

Our tramping club spent 3 nights here while exploring the wonderful Whirinaki Forest. This place can be booked as either Backpacker or Motel type accommodation and our group of 12 chose the Motel option. Because it was a block booking, made well in advance of the long weekend, we were given a good discount. There are 3 units, sleeping up...

The location is near Minginui at the Northern end of the Whirinaki Forest Park and is a fairly remote area. We went there to do some tramping in the park and spent one night at Whirinaki Forest Holidays. There are three units in the grounds of the farmhouse. The smaller ones (4 and 6 bed) are very old and need...
