This is now called BOTANY PALMS MOTEL so be careful. I booked a one bedroom suite with kitchenette and all I got was a Studio. They need to learn that there is a difference. One bed, two dressers, small kitchenette, dining table and two dining chairs. Had to sit/lie on the bed the whole time. I had to get the Wifi password at the office on check in and by the time I had got to my room it had fallen off....and I wasn't the furthest room away from the office. The smart TV streamed well though. It was however very clean and the bed comfortable.

The Manager, John, was very helpful and our room was clean and modern. Close to shops and restaurants. A good motel for a good price in a good spot. Suited us perfectly. We will definitely visit again.

Stayed 2 nights at this motel on a quick trip to Auckland for a family funeral...

Well let see where do I start. We got in late due to traffic saw a note on the door saying go to room. No one even there to help out or even give us a key. When we got to our room I notice a weird smell which I dismissed do to rain that day. Then we started looking around and found ants all over the kitchen sink. I was like fine... it's a motel. Then after my shower I looked under the sheets to find Somebody else's hair in the sheets. I'm pretty fine with having ants but dirty sheets is a no go for me. Well anyways we left that night and when came back the next morning to inform then that we will not be staying there because of the dirty sheets and ants and of yeah the smell of the room the motel owner said that they would get nothing back and that I would have to pay for the full stay. Beware if to stay there. No helpful at all and it would have been fine if someone was there to check us in. I am not sleeping in someone's else's used sheets. If you stay here check for hair under your sheets

I booked through booking.com
We were in the area (we own and live in Auckland) just wanted accommodation near the venue which is an hour from home.

So while in the area I popped in to the Motel a week before we were due to stay to check my booking for my mother and brother.
Twin room I booked.
Nope I got a double bed only.
First warning flag!

So after excruciating long amounts of time and blaming booking.com the manager managed to sort out a room with two beds at the same price. Nice!

So my mum and brother checked in (only to be charged more)than her verbal confirmation that we pay what we agreed to on booking.com.
Thats right! They scammed us.
2nd warning flag.

Then we get given 1 bed and a couch that would sink in the middle and eat you up. My brother is small the couch was clearly broken. Nearly $200 a night for this pathetic excuse they call a bed. Flag warning number 3.

The heater on the wall is from the 1940's and took 3 hours to heat up so we froze in winter. Flag 4

The manager was sooooo rude to my mother when Mum asked where she could find a local cafe. My mum is the friendliest and shy sweetest person and this manager was rude! That was it for me. You DONT get to be rude to my mother. Do your job or get out if you can't handle simple questions in your tourism industry. I feel sorry for tourists who end up staying here and need directions.
Flag 5 and 3 nights later....

We checked out and checked in down the road at ACADEMY at botany motor inn. ( 2 minute walking distance between motels)

So annoyed I didn't book this Motel first. If you like proper pump heaters that work and friendly staff and a proper beds not couches
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Academy at botany motor in.

Most of these reviews are singing the same song.
Crusty and old or rude manager or bad heater. I can tell you now most of that is true.
Go down the road trust me I stayed in both in the same week.
And for all the good reviews on here about (botany motor inn) which I don't believe ) "IF" they liked botany motor inn imagine what they would think of
Academy at botany motor 2 minutes walk down the road.
So if you want better value for your money ACADEMY AT BOTANY MOTOR INN

"NOT" botany motor inn.

Oh disappointed booking.com didn't reply to my complaint about my booking and price I agreed on but didn't get.

Just saying....

The facilities were average. Effectively, the room was large but not a warm environment and the single beds underneath the window were uncomfortable due to the draft coming through. It appeared to be clean.

The problem with this motor inn is the owner/operator. The woman woke us up early - we ignored as we were sleeping, came back half an hour later, opened the door which happened to be unlocked (due to the early morning departure of one of our party to go to the airport), she then peered through the window and came back yet again, accusing us of having an additional person staying which was entirely untrue and had been explained upon booking. We left at 1015am, 15 minutes after the ideal time frame at which time she accused us of having people coming and going...It's a motel!!!! This lady spoilt our stay through her complete lack of understanding of customer service. There were no electric blankets on the two single beds and small things like tissues were not included. The word officious springs to mind.

We booked a night at Botany Motor Inn but were a bit worried when we read the reviews just before we arrived. We were greeted by a very pleasant and cheerful receptionist. Our room was spotless & up to date with no worn or damaged furnishings. We had different managers each day & everyone we dealt with was very helpful. We would be very happy to Botany Motor Inn to our friends.

Stay for a week for work and the bathroom sink was blocked/stagnant water advised staff on my first day and came home still blocked they tried a sink plunger - still blocked - it stayed like that for the whole week lucky there was a kitchen sink so was able to brush my teeth in there.
the cleaning staff are a little shabby as we had two rooms and on day they didn't bother to make our beds or change our towels in either room. went down to reception to get our supplies for both rooms

Right from the very start of us asking various motels in the area for a rates and availability, Sandy at Botany Motor Inn was unfailingly helpful ...right as far as drawing a schematic sketch of the units as we had a team of Special Olympic swimmers ( Special needs kids) We stayed two nights and for various reasons had to change a few things around in the rooms and take out tables etc. We also had team dinners and breakfasts in one big room which meant ALL the rooms cutlery and plates etc from the other 9 rooms got mixed up. NOT A PROBLEM !! Says Sandy the Manager...and she also let us use the Motels "commercial " stove to heat up dinners as all bedrooms have Hotplate and Microwaves which of course is fine for a short stay on your own but not with 24 people!
Rooms were all VERY clean and the beds comfortable and linen and towels certainly of a very good standard. The Free wifi was also a great bonus. Thanks very much Sandy for an easy stay and hi to Mark whom I met briefly when we left. Will certainly recommend to others
