We just returned from a great vacation in Costa Rica, We had the opportunity to travel around the country and stay at some amazing properties. Unfortunately the Riu was NOT one of them. While the grounds and beach are great there are many con's: Hotel Rooms: We changed rooms three times and even the third room was no where near...

The beach is beautiful, the sea almost blue! the attention is very good. Our card keys for the room decoded five times the same morning, that means we had to walk from the room to the lobby and back! and we took care about putting them alone, away from cell phones and cards, maybe you can prevent that telling them in...

Found the Guanacaste a clean, friendly hotel. The staff were helpful and attentive . The pool areas were clean and the pool itself, a good temperature. Our room had an looked out onto a canopy of trees. It was a pleasure to sit out at dusk and see Fireflies appear before our eyes. If you love nature, this is the...

Went with my girlfriend for 3 days after spending a week at another. Hotel is large and well taken care of. Bathrooms and rooms were very clean. We had a suite for the first night which was beautiful and a regular room which was still good for the last 2. Buffet food was pretty good, drinks were ok, not great....

My husband and I stayed at the RIU Guanacaste in January 2017. It was our second time there and even more wonderful this trip. The hotel is beautiful, staff was very gracious and we loved the themed drink nights; Martini Night, Margarita Night etc. Fellow travelers do not book your excursions on the beach. We did two tours thru Aquatic...

My wife and I spent 14 lovely days at this excellent Hotel. We found the staff extremely friendly and hard working. The Hotel is spotlessly clean and the gardens are beautiful; and kept immaculate. The beach is fine although the sea can be very rough on windy days, (which we found great as it was very hot and it cooled...

We came here on a girls trip to experience our first time in Costa Rica. We had stayed in the Riu in Punta Cana, a few months earlier and loved it! Overall, we had a great time and would definitely return to Costa Rica but would probably try a different hotel in the future. The pro's: Beautiful grounds, extremely nice...

We booked our vacation the night before we left and we were 3 adults (one in which booked 8 hours before we left). When we got there they already had switched us from a standard room to a family room for free. That was an awesome start to the trip. The room was great. It was clean, well air conditioned,...

We had an overall incredible time. Rooms were nice and very clean, service was friendly and accommodating. The resort itself is beautiful and huge. As some other reviewers have mentioned the pool is very busy and you need to get there early to reserve a spot. Many guests from the Palace seem to prefer our pool because it's more lively...
