Set in a small village of Komarna in a beautiful quiet setting. There is one supermarket and two excellent restaurants 5 mins walk from apartment on sea front. Apartment was very clean, private pool area with plenty of sun beds and very clean. Owners were very welcoming, friendly and spoke English. we enjoyed spending time with their resident 2 friendly small dogs and 2 cats. You would need to hire a car to explore wider area. There is a vineyard with wine tasting in Komarna. We visited krka national park to see the magnificent waterfalls and Dubrovnik city centre to do the walk round the walls to see game of thrones locations. Would highly recommend this holiday.

The villa at Komarna is furnished to an excellent standard, it is clean, bright and had a balcony where we could sit and watch the sunset over the bay. The owners live downstairs and both Mara and Milan were very kind, welcoming people. They have 2 adorable dogs. The pool is fabulous surrounded by plenty of sunbeds, provides hours of fun for children of all ages and a relaxing environment for sun worshippers. It was also very well maintained, checked and cleaned daily by Milan. This is a very rural location so for exploring a car is a must. The beaches along this coastline are pebbly/stony and the Adriatic is warm, clear blue and perfect for swimming. You can easily walk from the villa to the beachfront and a slightly longer walk takes you to the beach bar and the beach where mainly locals hang out. There is a tiny supermarket and one restaurant in the village, personally, I would recommend researching some of the restaurants in the other villages along the coast. There is a restaurant in Klek which has wonderful views across the bay, the staff were very friendly and the prices much more reasonable than the restaurant in Komarna. There are ample opportunities to explore the natural beauty of Croatia, Mijet Island and the Peljesac peninsula are great places. If you are energetic exploring the hillside at Ston is a must but be prepared to climb hundreds of steps. Dubrovnik is a lovely city to explore but be prepared for it being busy and highly priced. We visited with 4 older children (19 to 26yo) and having a car meant they thoroughly enjoyed the holiday. However, if your children are that age and want to go out partying at night this probably isn't going to be the right place for them. Our children were ready to chill out and relax, they were happy to recharge their batteries.
