Just had 3 nights in Russell at the Flagstaff. Excellent. Met by hosts Ruth and Jessie who have all the info you will need about local attractions and are happy to point you in the right direction. In addition they also welcome you to a glass of wine with them in the evening which was great as it gave some...

You will never know who you might meet at this beautiful property. This is the type of place we dream of when we travel. Everything is thought of to make the guests comfortable and the owners knowledge of the Bay of Island means you have your own tourist guide as well.

When in Russel my wife and I took time to have a massage and pedicure at the Flagstaff Lodge. The young lady that worked on us first on pedicure and later together with a man were very professional and we left the SPA feeling definitely in better shape. Thank you for a treatment well done

Homemade breakfast made to order each morning was not only delicious but served with attention to detail in presentation. Our room was larger and comfortable, we felt right at home. The location was...

A quick checkin to our gorgeous room ( all the bedrooms & bathrooms are equally fabulous), then a glass of wine on the terrace with Jessie and Ruth who helped us plan our stay in the beautiful Bay of Islands. Jessie and...

Jessie and Ruth run a fabulous B and B. The location is just a block off the beach, the bedroom and common room are well appointed. The breakfast was stupendous, I'm going to try to recreate some of them at home. We were well looked after for restaurant reservations and activities in Russell. We could not have been more satisfied...

Russell is quiet. Some may prefer Pahia on the other side of the lake (10 mins by ferry) but either way this Is a lovely accommodation. Ruth and Jessie are wonderful hosts for whom nothing is too much trouble. A period property in town which makes everything walkable. Well provided for - and don't leave without trying the external baths...
