My wife and I have just had 3 wonderful nights in a water view room at 'the Duke'. It's a lovely romantic hotel, a little bit grand actually with olde world charm. The staff are all obliging and helpful and it has a sensational restaurant menu and wine list- actually we ate there for the 3 nights of our stay....

We stayed for 2 nights for our Bay of Islands visit and day cruise. Reception staff very friendly and efficient. Room very comfortable and well equipped although a little on the small side. The restaurant is superb and we had a wonderful dinner with top class food and delicious selection of wine. We couldn't fault our stay and would definitely...

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights, and couldn't have been happier with out choice. Our room was very comfortable, and it was nice to have some outside space. The staff were extremely friendly, and even helped us book a boat trip to see dolphins. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is set just...

This is a very nice place with a lot of flair and detail! Very romantic we thought. We had one of the smaller rooms because we pretty much booked last minute and thought it was very nice. Tidy, clean and with all you need for 2 relaxing nights. If you can get a room with waterfront view and want to...

Absolutely avoid! Do not consider this hotel. Scamming like tricks & one of the worst experiences we've ever had. We paid over ~$1400 at this hotel and restaurant to give our ageing parents a memorable experience in NZ. Little did we know that the hotel itself is aged and does not deserve the stars it has. The rooms are old...

As I am in a wheelchair we arrived at the duke of marlborough for dinner with some friends to discover my chair wouldn't fit under the table. The staff were very obliging in finding a higher table without any fuss. To top the kindness shown we all had a magnificent meal, beautifully presented.a wonderful night

Beautiful spot . Right on the beach adjacent to the ferry. NZ,s oldest pub with a historic atmosphere. Really friendly service and the food was outstanding. Really enjoyed our time there could have settled in for hours. We didn't stay at the accommodation but would have liked to.

A magnificent old building with huge character and decorated old world style. We only stopped for a coffee in the afternoon watching the sun come down. Service was good but coffee questionable. It was served in a small cup and it was mostly froth, coffee made up only 1/3 of the cup. Should have complained but the view was more...

The best menu we have seen and enjoyed in the Bay of Islands. Cuisine beautifully cooked and presented. Fresh clean options. Always outstanding. Colouring in offered to keep kids busy.😀 The duke platter is a must! Great spot to enjoy the comings and goings.

Stopped for dinner one evening, having seen it the previous day from the BoI day trip boat. Arrived by ferry from Paihia and sat outside to enjoy our meal and the sun setting over the bay. Food was excellent and the wine list featured some fine examples of local wines. Service great from knowledgeable waiter. With a view over the...
