The Ambleside Bed and Breakfast was our first stop in the South Island (as we flew to Nelson) and it was also our last as we returned there before we flew home. Robyn and Kees are just the most wonderful hosts and genuinely nice people. We had a pot of tea on arrival, which was perfect after a long journey....

When such lovely and delightful guests as these two stay, hosting is a wonderful pleasure! Thank you very much for your wonderful and kind words. Our cooked gourmet breakfasts are a big part of the 'luxury' in our name as we know feeling satisfied and well-fed is so important before you embark on your day out in Nelson. Yes, hanging...

This is only our second B&B experience and feel that this is the was B&B's should be run. The owners were so welcoming and inviting. They were full of information about the local area and beyond and we made full use of their recommendations. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and the owners went out of their way to make us...

What lovely words written about our B&B! Thank you so much for your kindness. Concerning the honeymoon suite, given we were just the second B&B experience for these guests, we are not sure what the expectation was and what our room is being compared to! It has been the Cream honeymoon suite for 14 years and never been questioned as...

What a fabulous place Robyn and Kees run; a very warm welcome, wonderful rooms, fabulous breakfasts made to order, and nothing is too much trouble. Their knowledge of the Nelson area is superb and their restaurant recommendations were spot on. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We spent two nights and were very comfortable. Handy location, clean and neat, great amenities, our room had a very large bath with shower and separate tub, fabulous breakfast, all the info and maps you could want. Hosts were very informative and friendly and interesting! Highly recommend this establishment.

This little gem is all about attention, service, detail. The home is loved by its owners and they love what they're doing. This shows in the thoughtful organization of the space and the energy given to you as you plan your day's activities. No detail is too small, be it a beach towel for swimming or dinner reserapvations. Best of...

Wonderful and kind words - wonderful and lovely guests! Thank you! Just a joy to "coddle" such delightful people and pleased to know we did not intrude on their space. One of the intricacies of good hosting is the art of discernment - learning whether the guest wishes to interact or not. The beauty of our B&B is designed to...

We stopped at the Ambleside B&B for one night only which wasn't long enough to take advantage of all that was on offer. Very welcoming hosts, starting with a cup of tea, home baking and a beer on arrival. Lovely areas to sit outside in secluded corners with parasols. Inside there is a well appointed communal lounge where one could...

Thank you for your wonderful review! Yes Ambleside, or indeed Nelson, NZ is not just a stopover! Nelson region is a stunning destination - with the beautiful Abel Tasman Park less than an hours drive away; golden beaches; rivers; lakes and bush walks all within easy driving and walking distance from Ambleside. Lovely bed and breakfast conveniently located for visits to the Abel Tasman National Park. The hosts, Robyn and Kees, could not have been more welcoming, supplying cool drinks and delicious home made biscuits on arrival. They were happy to provide suggestions on what to see and to make reservations for trips. Breakfast, served in the garden, was an added bonus.

We stayed three nights at Ambleside in January 2016 and were delighted with our visit. We were made very welcome by Robyn and Kees, who could not have been more helpful. And Kees did us some seriously good breakfasts. We found out at the end of our stay that we were sort of 'guinea pig' guests, because Robyn and Kees...

Thank you so much for the wonderful words! Also appreciate the encouragement as over these past 13 years we have done our absolute best to ensure our guests have felt welcome and cared for.
