We completed a journey round the South Island, ending in Nelson and had the best stay of all at A Woodsy House. Beautiful old home with lovely interior and furniture. The host was very friendly and helpful, guiding us to places we might be interested in. We had our own bathroom just down the hall from the room and shared...

A truly delightful home, full of charm, beautiful furniture and exquisite decour and artefacts. Regretfully we only stayed the one night. The welcome was most sincere and helpful...with Shane...simply ...a font of knowledge.Thank you so much. The room ,bed, was utterly comfortable, A most memorable stay indeed. To establish that Selena and I had our appendices removed by the same...

Hosts Selena and Shane made us feel very welcome in their charming, delightfully furnished home. The views of the bay from the downstairs living room and upstairs balcony are stunning. While hidden away up a tree-lined avenue the house is just a short walk from a convenience store and pub. And with a slightly longer walk you are the heart...

Spent two nights here. Bedroom was a good size and the bed was comfortable. WiFi worked fine. Owner was very nice. From the outside you can see mountains in the distance -- great view. Bathroom is down the hall but pretty big. There is also a common room for eating breakfast and watching TV (not a TV in the room...

Woodsy is set on a slope of woods overlooking Nelson and the bay. We stayed for 2 nights in the Topaz room, which was a large room overlooking the wooded entrance. It was furnished in a style suited to the age of the property. We loved the space of the room, which was extremely comfortable. Good tea and coffee is...

Recently stayed here for a night on the way through Nelson. This nineteenth century house has a second life as a B&B, with interesting wood finishes and other period features. The house is located close to the centre of town, set on the slopes of a hill among the bush. The guest balcony has great views of Nelson, the port...

Our stay at Woodsy was so relaxing and soothing, and the location is wonderful: in the foothills looking out over the town. Shane and Selene were gracious and helped us plot our stay in the area. While downtown is a little walk, parking is easy and there is a great bodega, takeaway and pub just a block away. We stayed...

An older home that has been renovated over the years. If you want a place that is like an older estate home - this is the place. Large comfortable rooms and attentive care from the owners. The breakfast was an extra cost but well worth it for the home made food. If you are expecting polished granite and modern furniture...

My wife and I recently had a lovely stay at the Woodsy house. A great old house and fantastic location - also very secluded from main area as well which is a perfect balance for a nice restful sleep (as well as for ourselves in having a van crammed with furniture away from the eye on the main street). Owners...
