Ripon Heritage Bungalow is situated amidst the lush green Tea Plantations of Wayanad. The Bungalow is made by the Britishers during 1930 and situated at Rippon close to the Ootty-Calicut highway (15 kms from Kalpetta town). We have 6 Luxury rooms in the Bungalow and having a restaurant with authentic tasty homily food. Ripon Heritage Bungalow is perched in a hill of Western Ghats brings an aura of panoramic view around, spaciously built in the early colonial style of architecture. Taking a trip to a place like this to come closer to nature, then why confine inside a boringly painted walls disconnecting yourself from nature just to sleep in? We bring in the flowers and the birds to accompany you inside the four walls. We offer stunning scenic locations and exclusive hospitality to our guests.

Detailed Reviews
We had an excellent time at rippon heritage bungalow. The owners (a family) gave us a warm welcome by showing us around en telling us more about the location. Our room was very big, clean and, with a good big bed and bathroom. The hospitality during our stay was very convenient: a daily tasteful breakfast, lunch and dinner. The owners help you to make
you feel comfortable during you stay. For
Example: you can play badminton around the house, walk trough the tea plantation, play games or anything else. The family provided us with bikes, and gave us advise for activities.

We had a very pleasant 2 days stay at the Bungalow. Its a 100 yr old british Bungalow run by Mr. Varghese and his family. Well maintained rooms with a fireplace, homely food, calm and serene surroundings were the main highlights. The morning walks through the tea valley and watching the sun rise was very refreshing. We highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and just sit and relax with nature.

Want to stay in a Heritage Bungalow listening to the Chronicles of South Indian tea industry and waking up to beautiful sunrises amidst the tea estate? There is no better place than Rippon heritage Bungalow run by Mr.Vargheese and family. They provide the best hospitality which makes you feel like home away from home. A safe haven for solo travellers, female travellers and families. Best gathering spot for group travellers. The colonial styled rooms and the antique furnitures are an add on for this vintage home. Come and enjoy this old charming British Bungalow and leave with bunch of memories to cherish.

The Bungalow was a good experience and I think it is best for family get together because there are lot of spacious rooms and a caring team of staffs to support.
However the resort lack a big element that is a pool. But it can be compensated with the privacy and the view it provides.
The rate for food is a bit expensive but they allow you to bring food from outside so it's fine.
Overall it was a good experience.
Kudos to the management.

This is a superb colonial era property in a hillock surrounded by miles and miles of Tea Gardens. The Rooms, bathrooms, Lounge areas are all spacious and gives a grand feeling. The owner Mr. Vargheese and his son Ebin are so friendly and always ready to help. The food by Chef Clinton is worth mentioning and all the staff are very prompt and ever ready to serve. This is a super value for money proposition and highly recommended.

Home away from home - that's how I would describe Rippon Heritage Bungalow. As you set foot inside the bungalow, you would realise that the bungalow has a number of stories to tell. Be it the artefacts adorning the corners of the room that scream for attention, the mini garden or picturesque location, Rippon piques your curiosity. The rooms are spick and span and spacious enough for you to amble around. If you are planning to stay in the bungalow for a day, there are a number of activities to keep you occupied- a walk through the tea plantation, badminton and cricket court, swing, bonfire area, a park for children and even a mini swimming pool overlooking the hills.
We stayed at Rippon with our extended family for four days and as said earlier, felt completely at home. Our host Ebin Varghese was always at the beck and call. He guided us and helped plan our activities in Wayanad, including booking us  jeeps to 900 Kandi and Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary. Special requests like bonfire, brown rice and beef roast were entertained without any fuss and on the last night of our stay, we were served some scrumptious Thalassery biriyani, specially made for us. As for lunch and dinner, though there is a fixed menu, the dishes keep changing, thus breaking the monotony. Different Kerala dishes were served for breakfast every morning. Food was well-made and served with a lot of care. With homely food, homely ambience and a caring staff, Rippon indeed made our stay a memorable one.

+1
If anyone wants to experience an excellent hospitality, coupled with delicious food and a cozy stay at a 100 year old british bungalow, you have already arrived at Ripon Heritage Bungalow. My husband directly called Mr. Varghese to book the rooms and he was more than prompt to share all the details along with the beautiful pictures of the property. We decided to book our stay for 2 nights as oppose to 1 night that we were initially thinking of and boy we did not regret doing that. While on the road even before reaching the property, Mr. Varghese was checking on us and after reaching we were greeted by him and his son. They had booked us in their oldest big rooms which had a lovely fireplace. It brought old memories of all the british bungalows that I had stayed as I grew up in Army cantonments. It was like homecoming as the hosts including Mrs. Varghese made us feel so comfortable around serving some excellent homely food with lots of love. They have some great collection of Honey that we bought along with some different variety of Teas. While leaving, we just enquired about a place from where we could get the tea trunk tables and proactively Mr. Varghese gave away a couple of wooden trunks along with couple of plants that my mom in law wanted. Such generous hospitality which goes beyond all expectations is very rare in today's world. A whole hearted heartfelt thanks to you Mr. Varghese, Maam and Ebin. It was the most memorable stays that we have ever had.

Ripon Estate club house bungalow situated on a hillock surrounded by the tea estate presented a serene environment for our holiday.
The 100 year old club house maintained by Mr. Vargese and his family was a pleasure to stay and their hospitality had no limitations. The home preparedfood was excellent.
Not one of the 50 staff members had any complaint whatsoever.
God bless Mr.Vargese andhis family for the great holiday.

We were planning to go for a short holiday out of Bangalore and decided to travel to Wayanad. One of our primary criteria's was to find a place which is quiet, peaceful and has a good scenic view. After looking at a number of resorts we decided to book Rippon Heritage Bungalow in Meppadi.
The distance from Silk Board, Bangalore to Rippon was 290 Kms. Route is Bangalore, Mysore, Gundlapet, Bathery Meppadi. from Gundlapet to Rippon the distance is about 85 Kms and takes roughly 2 hours by car. Roads are National and State Highways and are very well maintained. It took us 6 hours to reach with 2 breaks for Breakfast and Coffey. One can enjoy a nice 20 to 25 Kms drive through Bandipur and Muthadi Tiger reserve forest
The Bungalow have very large rooms and bathrooms. It was built in 1930's on a hill top at 1500 Mtrs above sea level inside a Tea plantation. It is surrounded by mountains and has a great view of Sunrise and Sunset. Rooms have Fire places and well maintained Heritage Wooden Furniture. Bathrooms, Beds and Towels were neat and clean. There is a dining room where nice home cooked style food (Veg and Non Veg) is served hot at a very reasonable price. The place is ideal for families.
We had a great time and a special thanks to Sanjay and Amol who took good care of us and made our stay very comfortable. To summarize, we had a very refreshing holiday and would like to visit again.
