Like others, should have read the reviews. Old and not well maintained, the motel has only a rudimentary dining facility with no alcohol service. The rooms are basic; no air conditioning and limited catering facilities. We went elsewhere for dinner. Would recommend the Ibis down the road!

Trusted an isite to make the booking for us and should have read the reviews before accepting the recommendation. The biggest issue, with a few other issues, was smokers in the room the night before so the room stank. We opened the place up, locked up, then left for a few hours to allow some fresh air in. They were...

Our family group of 6 we were booked into this motel by another motel up the road that had double booked our 3 double rooms. That booking was made months in advance as well but we hadn't been told. When the first couple of our group turned up at our original motel they were sent to this one down the...

We needed a room for the night and it was a hard choice getting something as close to where we needed to be so Oakwood Manor was it. After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor I was sceptical but it was for one night only. Pricey I think for what it was and they must be charging their price because...

Room was clean and spacious so was adequate for a short stay. However the whole place needs substantial investment to bring it up to standard. Much equipment was missing or unusable. Swimming pool poorly maintained. Not welcoming.

Did not enjoy this place at all. Free wifi was useless as our room was at the back of the property and it clearly only works near reception. Only 3 channels on TV. No aircon. The middle of the property had a lot of rubbish outside. Beds and lounge were uncomfortable. Dining chairs were stained. No windows except front door...

There is not one comment that we can make about this dump that is positive. It is worn out and a total embarrassment to a Kiwi reputation for value and hospitality. It's had its day and should be closed. Avoid this place.

The self-review puts itself at 4.5... you have to be kidding! The room was OK, The staff were friendly. We were greeted brightly and smartly at 01:30am! But the grounds. Cigarette butts everywhere, dead plants, rubbish, tins, cans and mops thrown around the grounds... Our most expensive overnight in NZ and the most untidy... but you were open when we...

We stayed in the Oakwood Manor on our last night in New Zealand. Didn't expect much because it was an airport hotel. Rooms were clean and spacious. We ate in the restaurant, which wasn't too bad a meal. Shuttle bus to the airport, free and efficient. Would recommend and use again.

We were deciding between this hotel and the Ibis for our overnight layover in Auckland. We ended up deciding on this hotel because of a higher rating on another forum. I dreaded it as soon as we arrived. Here are our pros and cons. Pros: complimentary airport shuttle, free WiFi Cons: dirty shower, stained and dated bathroom counter, dried cauljing...
