It is a charming place to spend a weekend. Very nice rooms, with traditional furniture and good taste. Good location with a lot to visit around like Olari street with Horezu pottery, Bistrita, Horezu and Arnota Monastery. However it is not a great place to eat, the meat is like rock although the plates sound exquisite.

Stayed at Conacul Maldar 7 times now (in Spring, Autumn and Summer also). Every time I enjoyed the architecture, the comfortable rooms, the design and not at the end...the food. Also, the region is pretty offering for site seeing.

Fabulous! Great location in the middle of small forest, the mansion dating back 1820 offers all the facilities for an unforgettable vacation. All pieces of furniture are genuine recreating the atmosphere of bourgeois early XIX century. Great cuisine! Original recipes. Extremely hospitable staff.

We are regular customers, from the first day they opened! One of our favorite places in Romania. Excellent accommodations, nice food and friendly service. Owners are super kind and helpful. Great swimming pool and restaurant. A must see.

Been there for an extensive lunch. Surprisingly good experience. Have to admit the rooms are not precisely to our taste. They felt, for both, precious , layout of rooms reminded me of a museum rather than a confortable luxurious room. It's like walking to a Romanian room in Versailles rather than a room in Meurice or Ritz... But the food...

Stayed with family and friends at the end of September, for a week-end. So far, this is probably the best and most beautiful location that we have been, in Romania. Everything is perfect: location, the manor in itself, people, food. The manor is in the middle of a park/small forest. We stayed in a double room with additional bed, with...

Few places in Romania have been traditionally refurbished at this level of perfection. In fact, in my opinion, this is by far the best place in this category. To respect the history, the place is not actually related to captain Maldar, the famous local historic character, but a former hospital which was bought and refurbished by the actual owners who...

The hotel is the most beautifully decorated, clean place I have ever been to and the surroundings are breathtaking. The service definitely needs improving especially in the restaurant and I found it a bit pricey. However, I would definitely return whenever I get the chance.

Everything is great. Location, gourmet/local food, mansion renovation style, attention to the details, big pool, staff, comfortable beds, very decent prices and amazing dinners outside in the garden. Suitable either for young or mature tourists. Congratulations for the owners and the entire stuff! Definitely will be back again. We love this place!
