If you're like us you won't be able to stay for long - as it certainly isn't cheap - but what it is is unique and outstanding. The view back to the mountains from the top floor of our "family" (two story) tree house was breathtaking. The tree house itself was wonderful - beautifully designed and appointed. The dinner was...

Following a long trip from the east coast of the USA to the South Island we decided on a few days to decompress at Hapuku just outside of Kaikora. A 90 minute drive from the airport brought us to this unique setting where we settled in to a top floor of the tree house. This is not your average tree...

We were impressed upon arrival, but staying for a second night generated even more appreciation of the establishment. The "Tree Houses" are very well appointed - and their interior design is really something to see. We stayed in a "two story", with parents upstairs and teens down. Be mindful that the lower room is not quite as fabulous as the...

Hapuku Lodge is such a special place. We stayed in a family tree hut (Piwakawaka) for two nights (Jan 4/5) and our 12 year old daughter thought she'd landed in heaven as much as we did. Her room felt quite separate to ours, as far as she was concerned (such grown-up luxury from her perspective!) but of course was completely...

Wonderful place to stay more than one night! Design suite, nice dinner and great views. Even though we were the only couple with 2 young children in the hotel we had a warm welcome and everything was provided to make our stay perfect.

Our family stopped at Hapuku Lodge as we make our way south to Queenstown. We spent two nights and wished we could have stayed longer. How many other places can you get a treehouse with a view of mountains, olive groves and a big blue sea all at once? This was our big splurge for the trip, but it was...

We started our holiday trip with a night stay at Hapuku Lodge and it was a wonderful launch for our vacation crossing over to 2014. Chris and Fiona created a wonderful evening with music (Jazz player) and we sat outside in a beautiful setting with champagne flutes overlooking the country side. Hospitality, food, ambiance and room (Olive Suite) were first...

We stayed in the Hapuku Lodge for 2 nights dinner, bed and breakfast, in November 2013. We were not impressed - hotel had mentioned how good their beds were but we have slept on better. Bottom fitted sheets were not ironed and there was no cover on the duvet. No drawers or wardrobe so nowhere to put anything in the...
