We spent 3 weeks in South Island staying at some lovely hotels ... and this was absolutely one of our favourites. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. We stayed in a lodge (complimentary upgrade to a lodge suite, thank you) which was outstanding - spacious lounge, bedroom and w

Special occasion called for a special place and Hapuku Lodge delivered beyond our expectations.

The staff are amazing. Chris, Fiona and the rest of the team looked after our every need. They made our stay really special. The anniversary champagne and treats was a nice touch.

We found Hapuku Lodge on the list of Luxury Lodges of New Zealand and loved the concept of staying in a treehouse. From the moment we stepped on property, Mike, Anna, Chris, Fiona, Kyla, Louis and the entire staff took care of our every need. The treehouse was impeccable. The sou

Thank you everybody for your answers we got to Kaikoura and it was absolutely amazing so glad we didn't cancel
Hi we are booked to come here on the 11th and 12th of January through Trailfinders but I am getting conflicting information of the weather we are going to be able to drive from the Bay of cloves Do you to the roads can you please advise
Hi Charlotte, I am a travel agent and this is the advice we received: Road access to Kaikoura continues to be impacted with the inland road route now open for scheduled journeys. Please refer to the NZ Transport Authority website for further details. There is also very positive news that the main state highway south of Kaikoura (SH1) is likely to be opened before the 20th December. You could also look at taking a helicopter or fixed wing flight in and out. I can highly recommend this as a way to see the coastline, and is a wonderful experience. Hapuku are offering a significant subsidies for this as I am aware it can be expensive. Trailfinders should be able to give you the full information on this, let me know if they cannot. If you have car hire I am sure they can look at changing it around. It is not like you need it at Bay of Many Coves anyway, and they have a helipad.
