Rimu Lodge is located just outside of Hokitika and it is worth the short drive out. The lodge is cosy and homely and is the perfect stay for couples. We were greeted by our host Sue Ellen who is so lovely and provides all guests with lovely little touches like complimentary drinks, chocolates and turn-down service. She also makes, hands...

Stayed here one night on our way along the West coast. Great B&B. Warm greeting from new owner, Sue Ellen. The lodge is elegant and stylish with magnificent views over the Kaniere river. We were in a top floor room with the same view which was spacious and thoughtfully furnished (including 2 luggage racks which I wish more owners would...

Beautiful B and B, in a stunning location with a delightful host Sue Ellen. Situated just outside Hokita, approx 5 k, the property overlooks the river and southern Alps...on a clear day. The house itself is lovely and comfortable with huge guest lounge with complimentary port and whisky, a lovely touch. We had one of the 2 ground floor bedrooms...

My friend and I stayed at this well appointed lodge where all our needs were catered for by the amiable owner and staff - bath robes, complementary port, whisky, soft drinks & chocolate to make us feel at home. Our room was well appointed and had a stunning view of the valley. Our day started with a beautiful breakfast bar...

Although the lodge is a few minutes from the centre of Hokitika this shouldn't really be an issue as you'll almost certainly have a car. The views from the deck are awesome and if the weather is good you can sit outside and admire the view. The accommodation is immaculate and the breakfasts are excellent. Sue Ellen is an excellent...

At first, I wondered about the idea of staying in a lodge that is 5 miles from town, but the lovely setting and gracious hosts make this a good choice for a stay in this area. Wonderful views of the Hokitika River valley.

If you're planing to pass through Hokitika, then think about sleeping in Rimu Lodge. A nice and quite boutique hotel with an amazing view to the lake and with a huge balcony where you can rest and just enjoy the view! Very warm & comfortable rooms with a huge window! Imagine to wake up with this view... just look to...

Lovely location with great views, a little bit out of town. We had a room that opened to the balcony downstairs. Beautifully appointed rooms and our host was very helpful. The rooms could have done with a bit more sound proofing and I thought a little bit pricey for a very nice B and B.

Rimu Lodge is effectively a classy bed and breakfast venue. Helen made us feel very welcome. She offers four bedrooms, attached to her house by a spectacular large vaulted guest lounge. Our room opened onto a veranda with great views across the river valley to the mountains beyond. All mod cons, and the best shower I've experienced for years. Worth...

A very nice, bed & breakfast. It was expensive for where it was, and the fridge in the room was very noisy. Breakfast and welcome was very nice. There was nowhere good to eat nearby and as it was described as a hotel rather than a B & B, I assumed there would be. View was lovely.
