If you're planing to pass through Hokitika, then think about sleeping in Rimu Lodge. A nice and quite boutique hotel with an amazing view to the lake and with a huge balcony where you can rest and just enjoy the view! Very warm & comfortable rooms with a huge window! Imagine to wake up with this view... just look to...

Lovely location with great views, a little bit out of town. We had a room that opened to the balcony downstairs. Beautifully appointed rooms and our host was very helpful. The rooms could have done with a bit more sound proofing and I thought a little bit pricey for a very nice B and B.

Rimu Lodge is effectively a classy bed and breakfast venue. Helen made us feel very welcome. She offers four bedrooms, attached to her house by a spectacular large vaulted guest lounge. Our room opened onto a veranda with great views across the river valley to the mountains beyond. All mod cons, and the best shower I've experienced for years. Worth...

A very nice, bed & breakfast. It was expensive for where it was, and the fridge in the room was very noisy. Breakfast and welcome was very nice. There was nowhere good to eat nearby and as it was described as a hotel rather than a B & B, I assumed there would be. View was lovely.

We arrived after dark - directions provided by the owner were very helpful. Clean, spacious room was very comfortable. We were on the second floor so the view was really lovely. Hot, fresh breakfast provided. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay just outside Hokitika then this Lodge is ideal. A little expensive but overall a very nice...

What a great place to stay if you want to be close (but not stay in) to Hokitika. We were the only guests for the one night stay and our host Helen, could not be more accommodating. Couple this with the owners adorable dog Disa, and this place is definitely somewhere we'd go back to.

I booked this through bookings.com and called 11 days before my arrival date to cancel due to we had a change of plans. The website says I can cancel anytime a week before arrival. The agent told me she had called Rimu lodge and they had agreed to cancellation. I had specifically asked if there will be a penalty and...

Helen graciously greeted us on our late arrival and provided us with place settings as we dined on our takeaway in her comfortable guest area. The Lodge is well designed and maintained with spacious and well-appointed rooms. We stayed two nights and enjoyed two wonderful breakfasts . . . both continental and freshly prepared after choosing from a menu. We...

After travelling from Christchurch my wife and I arrived at Rimu Lodge. We were greeted by our host Helen and were shown to our room. This room opened onto a very large deck with great views. Helen booked us into a nearby restaurant for dinner that night. Breakfast the next morning was more than adequate. We enjoyed our stay and...

It was a nice room with a good view. Pillows were rock hard. Breakfast was good, but no better than we had in every place that included breakfast. Host was cordial and helpful. All was OK, but was about $100 more a night than any other place we stayed in NZ for same type of room and service. Some were...
