This place was basic, fairly old, but clean and fine for an overnight stopover. It is right on the beach so can hear the waves breaking. The owner was very helpful in suggesting places to eat nearby. Make sure you take a walk on the beach. It is rugged and spectacular.

Friendly staff offered good advice about local attractions and bookings. Room was clean and warm. Comfortable beds. Kids loved the playground and the horse in the nearby paddock. Would stay here again

Although this hotel didn't present an overly modern front, the rooms were well presented, clean, warm, and provided many facilities. I had a room with a queen bed, the room and bathroom was a great size, comfy bed, big TV, average water pressure. It was close to the beach and had a pool and spa on location. Was a nice...

Very good value for money. Comfy bed, good stove, easy TV. There was a storm the night we arrived and the Westland beach just behind the motel was wonderful the next morning. Now that we have seen Punakaiki, up the road, in summer and in winter, we would definitely recommend winter. The summer waves were a bit wimpy, but winter waves...

it was ok; on the main road, so you get traffic noise, and the rooms were like something out of the 1960's; majorly in need of an update to bring it to the 2016's. Not very modern, but was clean and warm. Greeting was nice enough, and there's a great flying fox out the back for the little kids (and...

A group of 6 of us stayed here for 3 nights in the 3 bedroom unit. The decor was tired, the heating inadequate in the middle of winter, and the lighting was also inadequate in the lounge area. On the positive side, the childrens playground including flying fox was fantastic and we loved the close location to the beach. The...

We stayed here as a family of 5. We had to little ones (2 and 6) who absolutely loved the playground(its huge). Motel is dated, but clean and comfortable. We had 2 bedroom unit, but had enough bedding for 8. Had light bulb in lounge that was broken, but staff had no spare, so gave us a standard lamp in...

This is a little place that has it all. Tidy, clean rooms. Very friendly, helpfull staff. Spa bath in room. A proper spa to use. Kids playground out the back with a zip line. It's 50m from the beach! Really can't say enough. The only reason it's missing the 5/5 from me is that the bed is too soft for...

We had a nice stay at Charles Court Motel. While the complex is run down and in need of an upgrade, the room itself was quite modern and neat. We were able to park the car in front of our room which we liked and The motel had a walking access to the beach.

We stayed one night here on our trip back to Christchurch and although the room was a very good size, and had its own cooking facilities, the complex is very dated and needs an overhaul. Good facilities in the grounds for families with a playground and swimming pool and it is only a short walk to the beach. We had...
