A lovely place with plenty of land to explore. We had a pleasant stay here while on our honeymoon. We enjoyed the home cooked meal by Andy and games room playing snooker followed by a dip in the pool. Lupton is a great place for some peace and quiet, staying in historic house and quite close to exploring the east...

The Lupton Lodge is one word: beautiful. The rooms are tastefully decorated. Andy is both host and a fantastic cook, and will make you a special cooked breakfast or even a very nice dinner if you like. Even his packed lunches have made an impression. We were upgraded to the blue with lots of space, what a surprise!

Stayed here for 3 nights near Whangarei . It's a little off the beaten path, but a very nice hotel in an 1896 historic villa with a converted 2-storey barn. It's location is great for exploring the east coast of the Northlands. The proprietor Andy made dinner for us our first night and great breakfasts for 3 mornings. He was...

Delightfully converted older house. We had a large room with a bathroom which was a nearly as large. There's a well equipped 'playroom' area with books, DVDS, beach/pool towels and a large well maintained pool table and accessories. Andy is a great cook and breakfasts were excellent. As it is a car drive into Whangarei we were more than happy...

Lovely quiet location in a beautifully converted 1850's house. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, whilst retaining all of the old world charm. There is a swimming pool, and they provide an excellent breakfast and dinner on request, although we did not dine there in the evening. Andy, the host, comes from the UK and was a pleasure to...

We were warmly welcomed on our arrival and shown to our spacious room. It was well appointed with free wifi. Bed was comfortable and we slept well. We ate both nights at The Lodge - Andy is a great cook and there is a good wine list - prices are reasonable. You will need a car to tour the area...

An amazing 8 days in Lupton Lodge. We stayed in the very nicely refurbished Barn, with our 3 kids, after a two weeks of motor-home trip in the south. The barn is a great place for the families, as the kids have some privacy in the beautiful top floor appartment. We enjoyed the bbq, the breakfasts, the heated pool, the...

Welcomed by Andy to our comfortable suite with adjoining sitting area and bathroom we admired the architecture and decor of this older establishment. Dinner was outstandingly prepared and served by Andy- the salmon was spectacular and we ate there both nights. We wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy even more contents of his well stocked wine cellar! His...

We were a little worried this lodge might be a bit far from town for restaurants and other supplies. Not the case at all, except you will need a car: it's less than 10 mins. Andy, the informative host was able to give us some tips for good local eating, and the breakfast he and his partner cooked up was...

Andy is the best host and provided excellent meals. The room was spacious with a private balcony looking over the garden. It was interesting to stay in an historic house situated beside an orchard. I would highly recommend the Lodge to travelers heading up north of New Zealand.
