The building itself is an old 'heritage' type bungalow up a steep driveway off the main road to Whangarei Heads. There's enough parking for 3 or 4 cars ( with a squeeze). There are to my knowledge 3 guest rooms, two are self contained bedrooms en suite and the third ( single) is a bed in the old dining room...

We stayed two nights, immediately on arrival the owner asked us if we wanted to move to the front room. We said no, the view was over the roofs of the industrial estate, the river could not be seen behind the trees. We wanted the room we saw online, it was a quite room. Very comfortable bed and good shower....

Stayed here two nights in the river view room. Scant views of anything other than flat rooves of wharehouses and shops. Room very cluttered and access to wash basin has to be done sideways. Disagreed over what was stated in the advertising re breakfast but it was supplied begrudgingly on a tray to last two days no other room service....

Have made many trips to this accommodation and stayed in all the rooms. Lovely hallway with beautiful wood paneling and flooring. Comfortable lounge with great views... even better from up the hill behind the house, sitting on bench under the stunning trees - so tranquil. Rooms well kept and comfortable.

Our room had a lovely view out to the river. The house is a beautiful old villa with native bush surrounding it at the back. It was clean, quiet and peaceful and had a neat little ensuite in the room. The bed was very comfortable and I had a great nights sleep!

What a fabulous stay. Beautiful outlook, friendly staff, and just a gorgeous, relaxing retreat. Ample off-street parking. Easy access to Whangarei Town Basin and river walks. Many, many thanks. Highly recommended! :-)

Jackie is an artist...she is also a Hundertwasser fan. That places her in the best category for us. What a lovlly little B& B. Yes, as others have stated the bed was fabulous....but we had to get up and explore.. Thanks Jackie..we will undoubtedly be back . The three cabins in the H/w style will look awesome!!!! . Cheers Martin...

As for other guests who have posted mixed or poor reviews, I booked the single room, which looked fine on the on-line pictures. It is through sliding doors off the main lounge, and has a large sauna in it. It wasn't clear on the website photos what this structure was. The room was clearly being used to store junk, with...

On a budget due to saving for a big trip in April. Boy do I regret this. My "single room" was in what looks like a dining room off the lounge with a sliding door between. There is a simple hook for a 'lock'. I came home in the evening and people were in the lounge. All I wanted to...
