We stayed 3 nights over Christmas to visit family. We stayed in the 2 bedroom townhouse (3 kids) which was very clean, comfy beds, roomy, great kitchen with all the amenities. Bed made up downstairs. TV in the main bedroom and large smart TV downstairs connected to the internet so we could log into our Netflix account. The staff were so friendly and nothing was a bother. The room was cleaned and beds made everyday. The adjacent cafe made the best breakfasts and coffee. Quick walk to shops around the corner. If staying in Wanganui I fully recommend this motel.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom unit with a spa bath. The unit was spacious. The living area had a three person sofa that reclined, a three person dining table and a single bed. There was plenty of room and we never felt like our bags were in the way. The heat pump was great for taking care of the summer heat. The bedroom had a queen sized bed. The bathroom had a spa bath and shower. The unit overall was modern, clean and tidy. Supermarkets are just around the corner and the centre of town is a short drive away. The receptionist was helpful with sightseeing suggestions.

Would have given a higher review but for the noise of the trucks during the night which bother hubby who is a light sleeper. Although i did not notice but i am a heavy sleeper. Very clean and upon check in the lady told us the room was small and showed us a bigger room for a extra cost or the smaller cheaper room. For us we found the smaller room adequate as we were only staying one night and only planned to use room for sleeping & showering.

The place is okay. Parking was fine. There was daily cleaning but we opted out of this by using the provided do not disturb signs. There is a cafe which looked good from the outside but we didn’t try it.

We had planned to use Airbnb which would have been cheaper than the 151 Family unit but we wanted to be close to town and EV charging facilities. It’s about a 20 min walk into town but is very close to New World/Countdown/Pak n Save - two of whom have EV charging facilities.

The two negatives were:

Email communication from 151 was poor with a one word response to an email asking about the kitchen facilities. We wouldn’t have needed to ask if they had a list on their website of which utensils/cutlery/pans and so on were provided. As it turns out they had a good selection including tongs but there’s no info provided so we didn’t know what we needed to bring with us for cooking so ended up bringing far more than we needed.

The thing I found most annoying was other guests sitting on the chairs outside each room and chain smoking. The weather was hot so we had to leave the windows open. Our unit constantly stank of cigarette smoke as a result. Yuck!

As a non-smoking family we wouldn’t stay here again unless they banned smoking outside the units and created a separate smoking area well away from the rooms. Next time we would probably book an Airbnb and drive into town just to avoid the smoke.

This use to be my favourite motel to stay at in Wanganui. But sadly not anymore. Yes still very clean and cleaning staff absolutely fabulous. Owners well 1 booked down stairs unit and was very specific that it had to be down stair at time of booking due to an injury. Arrived at motel at an earlier time than 2 pm which had also been discussed at time of booking and the room they had for us was upstairs which my husband had to insist we booked down stairs. Room not ready as staff had been told upstairs. Lovely cleaner and really felt for her apologies where it was not her fault. 2. Sky TV no longer available at motel so unable to watch Rugby against Aussie 3 They advertise Super Gold card on door and when In-Laws booked in for there room were told no we don't except Super Gold Cards. That is just 3 issues. Sorry but new owners not happy with any of this so now back to finding that new go to motel for trips to Whanganui

We booked this motel based on reviews and the photographs in their brochure. We booked the two-bedroom apartment. Possibly a mistake. It's a decent enough motel in many ways. The furniture is comfortable the beds are comfortable, the wardrobes are decent and there is space to put your suitcases which was nice. There is hand cream and shoe polish.
It is however about 40 minutes walk to the river, and least 20 minutes to the main shopping area, although there are plenty of close fast food options and their on-site restaurant if you get hungry. It is also close to supermarkets.
The two bedrooms were up a narrow staircase, although it has a handrail which would hold up an elephant. But you might find it difficult to get large suitcases up there. The sofa bed in the lounge, which we didn't need should have been folded up to provide more room, as it was it was cramped.
The biggest disappointment was the so-called soundproofing. It just didn't work – we could hear people talking in the next room, we could hear people talking outside, we could hear traffic noise, although being Wanganui it tended not to carry on through the night. So sleep quality wasn't the best.
It's looking a little tired as well with chipped paint, chipped tiles, peeling veneer on one of the cupboards and cracks in at least one of the "leather" chairs.
Servicing was nothing to write home about either. Beds were never made, which should have been made clear when we checked in (we actually don't have a great objection to the room not being serviced every day). Tea and coffee wasn't always replaced.
The gym is also nothing like the photographs – 4 chairs and a table and 2 machines one of which didn't seem to be operable. Wouldn't recommend it.

We were met by a rude asian lady who kept yelling on her cellphone and was more interested in making sure I understood the quiet time from 7pm, no smoking in room and no dog rules. She also said If we have problems to ring the office then she said but dont ring the office because we busy. Then she showed me my room on the map and basically kicked out of the office. RUUUUDE. Went into our room and the paint is peeling in the bathroom, no bubble bath for the spa, the gym is now over run with clothes horses, rattling fan in the bathroom, no cooking facilities, no bathrobes. What was once a luxury motel has now become mediocre and I was made to feel more like a prisoner than a valued guest. 151 is no longer as good as it was. Considering I have stayed here a lot since it opened, I have noticed the decline

Clean and comfortable hotel with nicely furnished rooms including mini kitchen. The motel is also located in a quiet area thought close to the city center. A nice Thai restaurant (also serving classic food) is loved next door. Great choice for business in the area.

From the most friendly welcome, the very clean facilities and excellent location we were most impressed with 151 on London. The receptionist was just lovely and so very helpful. The unit was clean, spacious and extremely comfortable. We were traveling with a 5 year old, so was disappointed the playground was out of bounds, but nevertheless the helpfulness and friendliness of all staff we encountered, including the cleaning staff, over road any upset. The location is ideal as 3 supermarkets a short walk away.

I must start by saying I was booked into another hotel but when I arrived there was no booking in my name (thanks booking com) the receptionist phoned around and got me a 2 night stay here.
Initially thought it was very remote from the rest of town but actually it had everything within a 10 minute walk.
I was met by Dascha in reception, a lovely lady from Poland. She gave me lots of advice and local info plus a late check out
Room was large with a kitchenette. Little table and chair to sit outside on the balcony. Area was pretty quite and I felt safe.
My room was cleaned every day and fresh large towels provided.
I never stayed in a motel before and was pleasantly surprised. Sometimes things turn out well if you just go with the flow.
