We had a nice meal there one night with one friend and returned a few days later with our neighbors and both times we were all very satisfied with our meals with a little wine and beer. I had fish and chips on my last meal before leaving the area. It was a huge chunk of snapper with tartare sauce....

After hearing nothing but great things about the new management of the resturant we decided to give it a try on a Friday night. Sadly the food was just disappointing, we ordered pork belly which was boiled and quite fatty with no crackle, also ordered the ribs n wings - the ribs were ok but the chicken wings we reheated...

I have visited the pub a few times since the new owners took over. The meals are always fresh and generous portions. Even after a main course there are the home made cakes and the daily cheesecake. It's impossible to resist.

We were directed here by a helpful staff member at Corsons Books in Thames after having exhausted the limited array of foodie places available in Thames. "Bloody Brilliant" would be an apt epithet for this recent conversion in the boonies of Coromandel. The owners (and their very helpful staff) have worked their butts off in the last nine weeks since...

Their burgers and other meals are yum, generous portions and great value A friendly bar with pool table, juke box, large...

We didn't stay at the hotel, but had a group dinner there. 13 of us, the servings were huge, the fish & chips some of the best I've had, the burgers were yummy I was told, several types of fish dinners. All simple fare, pub style, nothing fancy but amazing tasting food and reasonable prices! The service was warm and...

We enjoy frequent stays at this Hotel; both for cycling the Rail Trial or tramping in the ranges. A fantastic old style country pub with clean and tidy facilities. Excellent food and hospitality, plus the locals very friendly too. Relax and enjoy! Linda and Colin (PS - Benny Hill is alive and well and living in Puriri).
