I can understand not paying someone to clean a room during someone’s stay, but at least clean it properly between guests. It’s not hard to vacuum the skirting board. Also, why have a bar if you don’t sell snacks and don’t advertise a packed lunch if you only intend to throw complimentary cheap biscuits and a couple of miniature rolls into a bag (for $25! per person no less).
On a group tour, and I was really shocked when I opened the door to my room. It was just so very basic. On one wall a very narrow shelf about 2ft long, a wardrobe also about 2ft wide, a shelf over the frig. On either side of the bed are small bedside tables, a low table and two low chairs. The aircon doesn't work very well, the TV sticks out from the wall on an angle - easy to hit one's head. The bathroom is massive, but unbelievably bare! A very small corner bench to my washbag on, a very small basin with a wall container of hand wash - so stiff to use that I had to use both hands to get anything out! The toilet in one corner, and the shower a couple of metres away in another. No shampoo or conditioner - non of the amenities that are listed in some of the photos. Looking at the photos on this site, one would think they are from an entirely different hotel!…
My wife and I have brought about 5 vouchers to stay at this location, and we have used 3 of them, you pay a deposit that allows you to take advantage of a discount, well it works for us, a free bottle of wine, and a breakfast that is included. It's about a 20-minute walk to the middle of Margret River village. We have not had dinner at the restaurant. It is not always open. We stay in a King Room usually and it is a good size. Nothing fancy, but kept clean and serviced each day. Parking is not bad but not often near your room. Good room rate, and is close to a lot of what Margaret River can offer, and yes we will stay again.
I spent two nights at this delightful motel. The accommodation was roomy and clean. The food was good and the service was great. The bush land setting is so pretty with some native plants, birds and even a marsupial. Stay also has all the facilities for a longer visit.
My partner and I arrived late on a Sunday afternoon, after checkin had closed. Earlier communication gave us the location of the room key, and instructions. The following morning I tested positive for Covid - out the window went our plans to tour wineries, caves, and other local delights. Planning to stay four nights, we were now in a position of having to isolate for 7. Leisha in reception was fantastic. She arranged for us to extend our stay for the requisite isolation period, arranged breakfast to be delivered daily, has phoned us each day to see if there’s anything we need. And the other staff have been equally helpful. Housekeeping staff providing towels, tissues, etc as needed. Special thanks to “the bloke in Willows Restaurant” who this morning at short notice provided yummy egg & bacon toasted sandwiches, despite the restaurant not being set up to provide hot breakfast room service. The evening meals we’ve ordered from them have been really nice too. Our stay is not what we’d planned but Stay Margaret River and it’s staff have made an undesirable situation much more pleasant. Thank you all, we’ll come back and enjoy it as it should be.…
Such a great location, just far enough out of town but close enough to walk to the Main Street (about 2ks). Close to path that goes 8km to beach and I went on me escooter and was a very good quality path whole way. Accom very comfortable and big beds, bath small and basic but functional and showers had amazing pressure and were hot. Tv worked well and a small heater / air conditioning did the job and so easy to operate. Parking close to room easy and there were an abundant of wildlife at night - including cute marsupials. Food was good, breakfast you’d call a hearty country breakfast, was good and match the hotel standard level. Customer Service was very good.
I'm a very positive person but when we arrived at Stay Margaret River, to find that our room had inadvertently not been booked and we then had to downgrade, was NOT the issue. Justin, front manager, could not find it in himself to even offer an apology. It was always someone's else's fault. When asked about breakfast times he responded with, "It's all on the back of the sheet." When we asked about retrieving our voucher his response was "You've been here before!". When asked about getting more milk for our fridge in our room, he directed us to the lovely young waitpersons in restaurant, who then advised us to return to Justin in Reception. We once again returned to reception and was offered one small "juice size" milk by receptionist. We asked for another and the woman walked away from us visibly shaking her head. Another unwarranted gesture. Rudeness is uncalled for in any setting especially if you want repeat business. Management needs to treat visitors with respect. If an error is made, just own it - your visitors will be more understanding of the issue if you just accept that, as the company's front face, you need to make amends. You may have worked long hours but so have your visitors who have worked a full day then had to jump in a car and drive 31/2 hours to stay in your hotel. We don't want to be confronted by grumpy, impatient management. The girls in the restaurant made our day. Thank goodness for Happy staff. We won't be returning STAY. Perhaps management can reassess how they treat their guests because you did not do yourselves any favours on our final visit this weekend.…
Pros Awesome buffet Free mini bar Comfortable bed Restaurant staff helpful and friendly Cons Bad shower pressure Nowhere to wash dishes except bathroom Check in staff member seem flat and disinterested in her job to me and was openly condescending towards her staff who appeared new. Dated room
My husband and I stay at this hotel on a regular basis at least twice a year or more. From booking in to checking out the staff are fantastic. We are greated with a smile and hello from all the staff no matter where we are in the resort. As we were celebrating our wedding anniversary we upgraded to a king room. The extra space was very welcome due to the wet weather. This did not spoil our time down in MR, we just made the most of the hotel restaurant and sitting by the log fire in the bar. Even though this is a little way out about 20/30 min walk into town, I would recommend this hotel. Suitable for couples, families or friends getting together. Thank you Justin to all your team for making our anniversary special.
A family group travelled to Margaret River as we purchased a deal at Stay. We had not been there before and it was rated a 3 star property. We arrived and check in was easy and the place was set in a lovely forest type setting a short distance from town. We booked a 2 bedroom villa It was older style but very clean and had everything you could have wanted. There was a pool , mini golf and an outside chess set We visited the bar and restaurant twice on our 3 night stay. The bar had a nice fire and felt really homely The restaurant was tapas and we enjoyed it very much We enjoyed our visit and would stay here again
