Stayed here for 4 nights in August and loved it so much we went back for another few nights in October.
We have stayed here when it’s pouring with rain and when the sun is shining and both trips were amazing.
We stayed in the two bed apartment two adults and a 2 year old. Perfect size for us three.
Both times the accomodation was spotless, beds are comfy and the kitchen has everything u need.
Supplies provided to get you going on the first morning are a great touch, and fresh eggs from the farm are a winner.
The grounds are safe and perfect for little ones to explore, alpacas a kangaroo, chickens, geese and peacocks roaming free and several little play areas and large trampolines for added fun.
John and Kim are friendly and will do anything to make your stay as easy as possible.
You need some transport but otherwise great location to explore the area, 5mins from the town centre and easy enough to get to all the tourist spots.
The Animal feeding is brilliant, as it’s just for guests it’s not overcrowded and John and Kim make sure that everyone gets plenty of food to give the animals.
I have and will continue to recommend this place to my friends. We will be back again next year and already can’t wait!

It has not been uncommon to have young children in tears when they leave the property. And one mum wrote that her little girl commented, "I wish I could be a chicken so I could stay here forever!" Thank you for your very kind review.

We had a memorable two nights stay. We stayed at the modern Superior Studio (4B). This modern unit has two queen sized bedrooms, one bathroom and spacious living area with kitchen facilities. Outside we enjoyed a good sized alfresco which looks out to a central grassed area. Alpacas and kangaroo will regularly wonder around and pass your window. The property manager, Kim lives in the homestead (by the gate) so help will always be on hand. During our stay Kim really went above and beyond to make our stay an enjoyable one. Travelling with our two young boys, she regularly checked on us to make sure we are comfortable, have enough water, stay warm during cold nights, helping charge our mobile phones and put on animal feeding on Monday morning to give kids extra activities. Margaret River Hideaway is a unique property which will suit travelling families.

We have just returned from a fantastic weekend away at Margaret River Hideaway and Farmstay! The kids absolutely loved it. We stayed in a lovely 3 bedroom cottage, the wood fire was a big hit and everything was very clean. I was very impressed that the kitchen knives were very sharp and the pots and pans seemed brand new!
The kids loved meeting all of the friendly animals and they were very excited that there were three trampolines and a playground right outside the cottage. Big bonus that the dogs could stay. We also enjoyed toasting marshmallows on the outdoor fire pit which was all set up and ready to go. Very impressed and will certainly come again!

If you're looking for a calm and peaceful setting; spacious, clean, tidy and modern accommodation for you and your family or friends, in a beautiful location surrounded by nature; with nearby restaurants and activities; you will find that here at Margaret River Hideaway and Farmstay.
Being a busy mum, even finding the time to make a phone call can be a challenge, and I was able to book our stay by communicating on Facebook messenger! After a confirmation email and processing payment, I made the booking just a few days before we were due to stay (not peak season).
At reception, we got our keys and were directed down to our cottage, with an enclosed outdoor area which is great for children, and can also accommodate for a dog. It was a pleasure to see the animals wandering round and loving life throughout our stay and our little girl had a fab time when we participated in animal feeding in the morning.
We were able to go out and visit local attractions and have dinner within a 20 minute radius of the farm. Then maximise our time in front of the fire and enjoy each other's company. Would absolutely stay here again.

Our second visit to Hideaway was as good as the first. This well-run, well-appointed and spotlessly clean farmstay with its fenced and ample-sized cottages dotted around the farmstay offers pretty much all you need to relax into your Margaret River holiday. Lovely waking in the mornings to the peacocks strolling around the property and later in the day watching the alpacas and kangaroo grazing a few metres from the fence. Very much enjoyed by ourselves and our two dogs.

I must start by saying Kim and John are absolutely fabulous hosts nothing is to difficult and they really went the extra mile in every way possible ie wheelbarrow rides, collecting chicken eggs. You could not wipe the smile off our boys face the whole time we were there! They have hearts of gold and made our 5 night stay really special.
We stayed in a Superior Studio which had everything you need to cook and was very comfortable for our small family of 4.
We were very lucky that the owner had dropped the accommodation rates during Covid as normally Hideaway would be far to expensive for us which is a shame as we would love to make this a regular holiday from Fremantle.

It's true, we have tweaked rates since Covid-19 hit and will continue with this pricing through to September (at least). Beyond that, you can be assured that we will show our appreciation in whatever way we can.

My husband and I stayed in a superior 2 bedroom cottage for three nights just before Christmas. This was our 4th visit and did not disappoint. the cottage itself was scrupulously clean, the hosts super helpful (especially Farmer John who helped with tv reception). So quiet and peaceful - even with children on the property. cottages nicely spaced so not on top of each other. 5 minute drive to Margaret River, perfect location. joined in with animal feeding on one morning which was cool - kids had lots of fun feeding the roaming animals. Will definitely be back again for another visit

This was the third time we've stayed at Margaret River Hideaway and it was as great as always. Under the superb management of Kim and Tony, it provides pretty much everything you want from a stay in a West Australian country environment. Both cottages and studios are spacious, well-equipped and impeccably clean with their own fenced area which is helpful if you have a pet. Alpacas and chickens stroll around the property and come to the front fence to gaze and graze. And this time of year the sheep in the surrounding paddocks have their lambs, the emus their little striped chicks. It's a great place for kids, but equally great if you just want to de-stress and unwind! We'll definitely be back.

We stayed at the superior 3 bedrooms chalet this time round for 3 nights. Previously we booked the superior rooms and I highly recommend you to book the superior ones. There’s 2 toilets and the pots and pans are of better quality and also I don’t remember having a reverse air conditioner and heated blankets in the standard chalet which is so important during winter. Beds and pillows were also very comfortable I got to sleep through the nights.
Kim is extremely helpful from check in to checkout. She even helped us warmed up the rooms before our check in, how nice can that be? We managed to join the animal feedings twice during our stay. On one of the day when there’s no feeding, I requested for a bucket of Emu’s food so that we can do our own feeding and she agreed and even brought them to our chalet early in the morning as promised. My kids cherished the food as they can feed the animals the whole day.. kids never get sick of feeding animals and that’s the reason why we went to stay at the farm.
Just a pity there’s no dish washer, washing machine and dryer in the chalets as I guess they have limited water but then again this is a farm not a hotel so this is perfectly fine for us.
I will definitely recommend this place to my friends!

Many thanks for your kind comments. You are correct in respect of our water supplies as we have to rely, entirely, on rain water. Our tank storage is close to 900,000 litres, however even that's not enough and we (sometimes) need to have water trucked in, particularly over summer.

We stayed in a larger cottage this time with a fireplace . The BBQ worked well and there was a full kitchen with starters for breakfast as well. The beds were comfortable and the shower was hot! Feeding the animals in the mornings is a treat for young ones and not so young ones. Kim is very helpful whenever or whatever you ask her about. The cottages are far enough apart to enable peace and quiet but as they are only 5 minutes from Margaret River town, it is easy to go out for dinner or lunch or just get some fresh food to cook for yourself

It will not work logistically as the farmstay itself is away from the main road and not near to any public transport.
